Herdwick Inn in Eden

We really enjoyed our meal here. Great food (gluten free options included), really nice staff, relaxed atmosphere, good value. Definitely worth a short detour off the A66.

Lovely room, great central location easy access for Keswick and Penrith. Place has lots of character, great sized room just a little cold. Breakfast was great and service was excellent.

Traditional village pub on the very Eastern fringes of the National Park. Interesting menu of pub staples with emphasis on lamb dishes. Best home made chips we have experienced in a very long time. Very friendly and relaxed.

We were recommended to visit the Herdwick Inn, as we were staying in the area (so we did not stay overnight there) However we just loved this place. We ate there for the three nights we were in the area, every meal was lovely, very tasty, generous portions, served by very kind and attentive staff and a top-draw landlord. Do stop by for a pint and a really satisfying great value meal.

Family stop off for a night on way back from Scotland, very glad we did. Nothing too posh, but very comfortable and clean rooms, good shower. Food was lovely and staff friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the lamb samba (curry).

Traditional olde worlde pub greeted by pleasant staff. We had two courses each for the four of us chosen from a simple and easy to read menu. Several choices on the menu are typically local and desserts are homemade. We were served and all paid up after 1hr 20 mins from being shown our table. Food was very well presented and good wholesome grub. It was all cleared up by everybody with not a crumb left. Much better value compared to other establishments we had visited recently and well worth a visit. Less than a 5 min drive off the A66.

Super super food, a traditional relaxed simple pub setup and atmosphere with friendly staff. Highly recommend the steak - the most tasty serloin I've had for a long time, cooked as requested to perfection.

Chris and the staff accommodated 10 of us for the weekend and they were fantastic. Chris went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, the bar was very well staffed so we were never waiting for a drink, the food (both breakfast and dinner) was excellent and the rooms were in great condition. We had a great experience and we would all recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay overnight or for a visit to a traditional pub.

Stopped for one night on our way south from Scotland. Perfect location in a quiet village 5 minutes from the M6. Great food and service for dinner. Comfortable room. Good wifi. Excellent cooked breakfast. And quickly on our way.
