Popped in for a quick dinner time meal and the food was so tasty but best of all was the fruit crumble. Thick crumble and plenty of fruit. Dog friendly thankfully with our two schnauzers enjoying the attention.Well worth a visit

We sat in the garden. Beautiful views of surrounding countryside side. 2 of us had the ham,eggs and chips. Absolutely delicious ham, the 3rd had Whitby scampi. All very large portions and excellent value for money. Not so impressed with the cider

We've been here before but never reviewed the place. Absolutely brilliant. Nice rooms, great service and food that was amazing, well priced and had excellent portions. The staff also couldn't do enough for you.

We called here for an evening meal and although the menu wasn't exactly extensive, the food was absolutely stunning home cooked food, just as advertised. We would highly recommend! It had a cosy atmosphere, with a real traditional log fire. We recieved a lovely warm welcome and the guys behind the bar were totally on the ball, attentative and really mad sure we enjoyed our evening. All round great value! Was really impressed ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Met up with friends for lunch.The waitress had our table prepared and we were soom seated and able to peruse the menu without being rushed.We all agreed the food was delicious although non of us had ever seen an upside down steak pie before- served in an individual dish but with the pastry on the bottom and the gravy on the top. Nigel, our friend, assured us it was very tasty. My own Burger was huge, well stacked and the beef was of very good quality. My only complaint would be that, like most establishments serving this type of dish, the burger bun was dry which for me makes it inedible. I would love to find a place that dips the top bread in the beef juice....🙏That said, the service was brilliant and our waitress was very polite and friendly.The bill wasn't a shock....at a little over £60 for main course, coffee and tea and including our bar bill we all agreed it was very reasonable for 4 people. Our first visit to the Black Bull will not be our last and we look forward to returning very soon.Thank you for a lovely experience.

Stayed here for two nights in february with our border terriers and it was brilliant, The meals were top class and good portions of it, breakfast also top class and the staff were very pleasant and helpful, This place is also very dog friendly with some beautiful walks from the hotel. Will certainly be back.

Had a Sunday lunch here today. Can honestly say it's been along time since I'd had beef as good. Fantastic service, friendly staff, nice warm fire in, drinks were good and the food was exceptional. Will be returning. Hard to fund these traditional pubs at this standard now.

Beautiful Take out Xmas Dinner. Got a 3 course meal. The Prawn Cocktail starters were lovely as was the main course and trifle. Crackers and Xmas cake were a pleasant surprise. I love how all food is put In tin foil boxes so no spilling of gravy and food stays warm. Staff were very friendly. I was impressed and happy with the service and food.
