Woke up next morning feeling awful, couldn't have my breakfast we're we stayed went home early.. In bed all day Sunday sickness and diarrhoea, shivering. Had to take Monday off work.. Food poison..

Called in here for our evening meal on the way back from Scotland. We were not disappointed. The food was great and the service excellent. The restaurant was very clean and had a lovely, comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this friendly eatery.

Staff were okay but the food was terrible. The food had no taste, we had ordered 3 different curries and they all tasted the same, absolutely bland. The only reason we kept eating is because we had been fasting all day and were too tired and hungry to go anywhere else.

Would give a zero but can't went here to treat the family but the food was bland. The portions were not right and felt like I just wasted my money. Sorry the only thing we equally enjoyed was the nan but thats about it.

You would think when your paying £80 for food and drink that your table host would kind of smile and be nice unfortunately ours must of left his smile at home.

I have never been before and work brought us here for the night... delighted to have found Raj though... I'm no Gordon Ramsay or food critique but I have been eating good food since a small boy and Indian food has featured very high on that list... Everything about my meal was superb... the mixed starter was light and tasty and simply but well presented. The staff were attentive without overburdening you... I had mixed Tandoori Grill and its not a dish I eat often as its invariably too dry... this wasn't it was moist and at just the right temperature... the plates were nicely warmed and the Tarka Dahl was superb... I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody and defy you to find fault... definitely would return when next up here...

Well, I don’t know wether to share this or not but I will as a warning.Ordered 2 curry’s, Chicken Tikka, Chicken Korma, 2 Rice & 2 Nan Breads online and paid on the site. Sounds good and easy, went to collect it got there, gave name, no, no order received. I was a-bit taken aback to say the least. Lovely Guy at desk very helpful and asked where my receipt was on my phone showed him lo and behold, sure enough I had ordered the above but alas in Epping I could of sworn I had the correct website so please be aware as it is easily done but no point in crying over spilt milk or curry’s in Epping. (Eek ) so reordered in Penrith you get a discount of 15% off if you order directly online which I did with supervision very reasonable at £17.42, did not have to wait long for our order got it home and it was delicious and still hot after a 15 minute drive and would highly recommend.

This is the third takeaway we have ordered to be delivered and yet again it’s still not here even though ordered early afternoon for 1840! We were thinking third time lucky but maybe not! Phoned and got told still waiting in a driver .

Lets start by saying we all really enjoyed our food.Everything was well cooked and varied in both level of spice and flavour.Service, well overall just lacking in any attention to detail. Some training wouldn't go amiss.Fortunately the food made up for the questionable service.

Bad food ? Don't complain and expect a refund !!Having been a loyal customer for quite some time, we noticed that the quality of the same takeaway meal can be quite variable. However things took a drastic turn recently, when my wife found a 1½" long piece of glass in her Lamb Tikka Masala. It was one of four meals we had purchased. My wife - incredibly politely ! - telephoned the Raj to inform them and to let them know - for THEIR benefit. They discounted it being glass and said it was probably a bone.I could hear her constantly trying to speak in her usual calm voice before the phone went dead. She had put the phone down because she was being constantly interrupted.I then telephoned the Raj and asked to speak to the manager.I informed him that I would like a refund on all four meals as they had all come from the same kitchen and I was not prepared to let my family eat any of them, having found glass in one (only my wife had put her's on the plate - the others had not been inspected).Like my wife, I was unable to complete a sentence without interruption. The manager didn't want to know. He had my money and that was it.I tried to tell him that we had been regular customers but he wasn't interested. He told me that if I wanted a refund I was to bring the meals in and they would inspect them ! Living 10 miles away I immediately rejected that offer.I suggested coming into the business the following evening for a full refund, but he wasn't interested in this.Environmental Health have been informed and I await their findings. In the meantime, one thing is a fact - being a regular customer at The Raj counts for nothing - once they have your money you're not getting it back, bad food or not.
