Absolutely lovely cotrage, very spacious and clean,I would definitely book again. The only reason for giving 4* is that hot tub didn't look very clean and kitchen is not equipped with too many pans or enough plates of the same sort (but manageable nevertheless).

Do not stay here at all!! In breach of consumer law and will be taken forward. Absolutely appalled at everything a full family with children were mislead and told complete lies about amenities and several different things about the property that was dishonest. The third party that work on behalf of the owners of the property are completely unprofessional and do not know anything about the properties at all they tell complete lies just to get people to book. We drove two and a half hours to get there and had to leave straight away with a child at 10pm. Disgusting.

Our daughter booked a night for us at this lovely hotel with a 7 course tasting dinner and overnight stay with breakfast. The food was absolutely first class, accompanied by very fine wines. The service was very, very good. We would most definitely return.

We stayed in the self catering cottages. Our cottage was lovely with parking for our car. Bedding was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. The kitchen area was great and came with a dishwasher, cooker, washer and fridge freezer so was perfect for a short family break. We were welcomed and felt very at home by the receptionists. The views are lovely and you can walk around the area. The little town nearby is nice too.

Fantastic food. Had the 7 course taster menu with matching wines. Every course was so tasty. Good choice of cocktails and gins. Great breakfast choice and once again gorgeous food. Our room was huge and very clean. Definitely worth a visit for the food itself.

My wife took me here for 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. Great location, away from it all: we occupied room no. 1. The staff were great: friendly, helpful, and the service generally was excellent. The food also was first class: we had the 4-course taster menu and were very impressed by both the presentation and quality of food: super tasty! Breakfasts too were great, whether the home-made muesli, omelette or full English: absolutely no complaints. Our room was very pleasant: generally clean and spacious. Like the hotel in general, however, it was showing its age: "fraying at the edges" and in need of some investment in updating furnishings and decoration. This aspect certainly didn't spoil our visit, which we thoroughly enjoyed, but will need attention soon. Overall, 4/5 (4*).

A characterful and beautifully situated hotel. The decor and facilities are rather tired but very clean and comfortable. The welcome was warm and the service friendly and efficient if a little effusive. The dinner tasting menu was good and the wines well chosen. The breakfast was outstanding. As good as I have had any where and better than most. A pleasant good value stay.

A lovely hotel in a remote area. Food was fantastic and the hotel created a separate menu for my wife who is dairy free. Staff were really friendly. Hotel was clean but showing signs of wear, however this added to the character of it. We would definitely return.

The hotel has bucket loads of rustic charm. Wonderful staff. Fantastic breakfast. Lovely rooms which may in parts need a little TLC but are clean and tidy. Had a great experience. In a place of outstanding natural beauty and stunning little village. Definitely some where to go again.

I love this place. Just for once I booked a Country House hotel and that was what I got.The owners are brilliant and have built a team of staff willing to bend over backwards to make your staff an exceptional one.I and my family have now been visiting for nearly 18 years.Rooms in the hotel are fantastic. But we now have children and find it easier in the cottages. Which are out of this world. If like myself you are a foodie please visit as you will not be disappointed, it along with owners, staff location are what has made us keep returning for so long.So please change nothing.
