Shap Chippy in Eden

Visited after a day walking. Food and price were great. Unfortunately, customer service was shot to bits. Waited an hour due to online orders mixing with those who were just turning up. I don't think that works in fast food unless you have one set of staff doing one thing and another doing the rest. Keep it simple folks.

We hired the Shap Chippy van for a private function for 90 people in March 2022. The food was excellent with generous portions. They arrived on time, were smiling and friendly. The service was slick and efficient, waste removed. We had had to delay our event due to COVID and the new owner of Shap Chippy honoured the original quote without quibble. The service was exactly what we wanted when hosting an event for a large number of people. Would recommend.

The website said pizza side is open but it closed in March. So my son chose burger instead from the menu board and they said we are not doing burgers either today so we left and went to Appleby, Pizza Roma where they do fabulous pizza.

Ordered Fish and Chips and a Cheese burger with chips.Fish and cheese burger were made fresh and both were tasty. Unfortunately the chips were inedible and looked like they had been re heated ended up being a very expensive meal at just over £17 such a shame a few years back it was probably one of the best chippys around

Excellent chippy with some lovely alternatives on the menu and a great App you can order online in advance.I had the Bengali spiced prawns and my wife went for their new Pea Fritters - both of which were excellent.Really efficient and friendly staff. The order was ready bang on time, and they had been really helpful eariler in the day answering my questions via Facebook Messenger.

The place itself is easy to find in Shap, just on the main road. The customer service is great 👌. Staff very nice and polite, always welcoming 🙂. The taste of fish is heavenly and chips are lovely. I think one of the best I have ever eaten. If you like gravy, that's the place to get it from. The curry sauce worth buying as well. Overall, if you are near by or just want to try something delicious then make your way to the Shap Chippy. 😋😊

Love this Chippy - and it just got better! Once a month opening for a gluten-free Monday - this was the first and I decided to eat in. I'm lucky that I can eat anything but I wanted to try the gluten free so I can take friends when they stay. 10/10! The batter was delicious, light and really crispy. I would not have known it was GF, but I knew it was delicious! Service was excellent - friendly and efficient.

We ate in this time and was just as good as the takeaway if not better, there is no wonder they have won awards and ranked it top fish chip shops in UK.The staff are friendly. Good choice and I noticed gluten free ect were also catered for.You can drink alcohol but you have to bring your own. There is a store over the road to buy some from, you just need to pay £1 a bottle corkage.
