Top 5* experience. We were a family of 5. The staff were young but super friendly and attentive. Main courses (duck, lamb, pork belly) were very well presented, great portion size and tasted amazing. Coleslaw and vegetables sides were tasty too. My Eton Mess was again well presented and good amount of fresh berries. We ate early 6:15 so service was well paced. Would highly recommend The Bridge, nicest dinner I have had in a long time.

While on a massive charity walk from York to Glasgow in the aim to raise funds for our Veterans at Erskine I stopped off at The Bridge. It was approximately 18degrees outside with no clouds in the sky on Mother's Sunday.I walked in and explained what I was doing and if I could shelter in the pub from the sun and heat for 10-15mins, as I was already sunburnt, and to fill up my water bottle and get a glass of water as I was walking from Stainmore to Penrith along the A66 that day.I was told they were fully booked and it was for paying customers only.I then asked for a pint of Cola and to fill up my water etc just so I could be out the sun for a few minutes. The manager told me to leave... twice. At no point was I ever rude or abrupt I was simply seeking shelter and asking for water. It is safe to say that with morals and standards that this pub has I will strongly encourage anyone to boycott - more interested in money than the welfare of another human being.I got water from a neighboring house and I made it to Glasgow, thank you for turning your back on me.

Called here yesterday (a regular stopping place for us over the years) at 11.55 on our way to Lockerbie. On entering (the place was empty) we were asked if we were ordering food but, because we only wanted coffees, we were turned away.Had the tables been needed for diners I could understand it, but we would have taken up only 15 minutes of their time.A really poor show I feel.

Called in on route back from staying in the Lakes. Had soup which was delicious and a lovely coffee. We were served by a lovely young lady called Kate. Lovely experience all round.

Beautiful food, friendly atmosphere.

Excellent food, nice and spacious, modern but homely clean interior and priced well. Had the roast Sunday lunch, sausage and mash for the two kids, really good and just next to the road.

Great little restaurant, friendly staff, good segregation, excellent food choices, superb decor, Canadian Burger πŸ”πŸ˜‹πŸ‘Œ is a must but make sure you are hungry. Car parking available. A MUST VISIT enroute to or from the Lakes. Great taste in background music with Lady A playing in the background.

Exceptional welcome, we saw another 5* review and booked immediately, we were looking for a nice quality meal on route from Aberdeen to Somerset near M6, we phoned 4 hours ahead and the staff reserved a table and made sure we had roast beef dinner for two prepared for us as we arrived, although the premises were due to close, the staff still honoured our booking even though we were late, checking on our experience throughout the meal and at the end, ensuring we were comfortable and happy with our experience, staff prepared takeaway coffee for our onward journey. All other meals served around us looked really nice and plentiful. Also recommend continuing journey on A66 via Orton back to M6, stunning countryside and views.

Food was very nice, service was great and quick. If you just want a quick stop and a cheap option, then this is not the place. If you want a nice environment and don't mind paying a bit extra then this is the place
