Food is unexpectedly excellent. Ambiance is great. Having had mediocre food at Centre Pacts for a couple of days, we finally found this little gem for our family. Really recommend.

The food here is superb! Had roast beef Sunday lunch (£12) the meat was unbelievably tender followed by one of the best sticky toffee puddings ever (£6). The service was great and the staff were all really friendly. It may look like an ‘average’ pub from the outside but the food was fantastic.

Fantastic meal, amazing service and lovely friendly atmosphere.The starters were so tasty - garlic mushroom crostini and the black pudding stack was Michelin quality.Main courses - well, the chicken, ham and leek pie was the best we've ever tasted (and we are from Wigan).Big shout out to Neil, Alex and all the staff for making us so welcome- we'll be back.

Friendly pub, open fire in one of the rooms. Large portions of very tasty food. Scrumptious cheese soufflé followed by steak and ale pie which was full of tasty tender steak, which looked like it was exploding from its casing. We will definitely be returning soon.

A lovely pub on the north side of the lake District. Fantastic value for money so if you order 3 courses bring your eating trousers!Really nice welcoming atmosphere and you can see the owners have put a lot of love into the place.Pictures below of black pudding stack (sorry couldn't resist taking a bite) chicken Caesar, chicken pie and a lovely creme brulee!

Amazing food....chicken, ham and leek pie fantastic. Chips...fantastic. Carrot and swede...fantastic!! Lovely place. Menu full of choice. Definitely homemade and would highly recommend. Staff really friendly. Value for money!!!

Booked lunch as wasn't sure if it was going to be busy and didn't want to miss out. It was really quiet when we arrived and the 2 young girls that attended to us were lovely. If you're a gin fan there is absolutely loads of choice...you won't be disappointed . I ordered the chicken,ham and leek pie and my partner got a burger. The pie looked homemade and was absolutely beautiful...so tasty. Booking for an evening is recommended as it does get busy. Will definitely pop in again if we are staying in the area .

Amazing food, decent price, nice location. Loads of outside seating. The chicken and ham pie was absolutely delicious and I think was home made by the chef 👍👌Will go back again when in that neck of the woods.£50-60 all in for 4 meals and 4 drinks.
