Had two meals here with family both of which for the money were excellent. Morning cooked breakfast and evening dinner. In the case of breakfast you got free hot drink refills so ideal for a coffee lover like me. The chicken tikka masala comes recommend by us. We will definitely eat here again next time we are in Penrith.

I liked this Spoons having booked into the Premier Inn next door. Excellent friendly staff and really good real ale. Two pints of excellent Brains SA. Had some very generous nibbles from the starter menu which did the job perfectly. There was a big cider selection for those who don't fall over after two pints.

Good wetherspoons nice interior! Came for breakfast and tea cutlery wasn't clean but like all spoons it offers good service at great value. Some of the staff looked like they was goin through the motions but who doesn't in there job! lol breakfast muffins are small but you get unlimited tea or coffee so not complaining š

The staff were friendly and helpful. The first booth we sat in had a very wobbly table so we moved to the next one over. The food was okay, like you would normally get from wetherspoons. Good place to go if you just want some cheap food and a drink. If you are wanting something a bit nicer I would probably recommend The Board & Elbow which is close by.There was a sofa and giant mirror in the loos. Bit different.

Service was very good. Great value. Unfortunately we went twice and both times food was not hot enough but tasted nice.

Drinks reasonably priced. Better signage for the terrace on closing times as different to the pub. Better team training on availability and the menu wouldnt go a miss ALSO a certain staff member need a lesson in speaking to customers with respect, to be told "you will be back inside by the time its closed" when not one of us argued.. is not even low standard customer service! Glad its not my local.

Had a chuckle at some of the reviews on here. A very deceiving building from the outside. Looks like a small country pub but when walking in has a tremendous interior. Set upon 3 floors, with the bar on the ground floor. A large seating area with an array of furniture including booths with dimming lights for that more romantic date night. From what I could see there weren't many staff on the floor however the girl who served us was very attentive asking twice if everything was alright with the food. She seemed to do most of the running around which is a common scene in a spoons pub. We had no problems with the food however the condiment area was sparce and with what I can only hope was a burst tomato sauce sachet all over the ketchup, as picking up sticky packets is not a fun experience.Definately not the worst experience I've had as some reviews have stated. Left feeling full and hydrated. Good for a typical spoons.

Food was ok, but the peas looked and tasted awful, 1 of the staff ( a new starter) was very helpful, but another was rude and couldn't be AR#@D, had to ask 3 times for butter that didn't come with the bread and butter

Probably the worst Wetherspoons Iāve had the misfortune of stumbling across. 25 minute wait for drinks to arrive after ordering. Food came and it was sub-standard. Beef Madras which was cold in places and volcanic hot in others, hadnāt been stirred after the microwave pinged, was just tipped into a bowl. The rice still had the shape of the packet it had been squeezed from and was hard on one side. Didnāt think it was possible to mess up microwave rice but I was proved wrong here today. As for the poppadoms⦠they werenāt eaten as they still had half a litre of oil pooled on them - atrocious looking. Ordered a small bites Nachos which again, appeared to have been thrown onto a plate on top of a pile of cold grated cheese. The scampi and chips were accompanied by the most underwhelming looking peas. The pepperoni pizza was the only thing that wasnāt bad. It was only after weād ordered we noticed the posters for the āDog Beck Employment Open Dayā strewn around nearby tables which proudly exclaimed āUnder New Managementā - so to summarise, shocking food, poor service but to end on a plus point for this visit⦠the only way is up guys!
