Just had two nights here. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was lovely with little extras that made it all seem special. Breakfast was excellent as was the Sunday lunch of lamb shoulder...really enjoyed. Great ambience too. Highly recommended.

This was a nice place to stop for lunch with dog during our walk. The sandwiches were very nice indeed but the service was a bit slow. I don't blame the bar staff there just weren't enough of them. Nice atmosphere and good tables well spread out.

Great pub with very attentive and delightful staff. We were visiting the area and went in for food. We both had an amazing pizza and can't fault the service we recieved. Our pup was made to feel very welcome also which always makes our day!

Stayed at The Grehound for the first time. Very pleasant, helpful staff. Lovely room, mattress was perfect for us but may be too soft for some. Large bathroom with soft fluffy white towels. Food in the evening was good and breakfast substantial, plenty of choice. Definitely return.

Went for a Monday afternoon lunch after going for a walk by the canal. Lovely place with good food, the man behind the bar was friendly too. All had small portions and was a good amount for lunch, would recommend.

I went for dinner at this pub. Though the rooms are very nice and have a good atmosphere, the food is really bad and expensive. I've eaten there a year ago, and the food used to be better. One specific note: if there's a pizza oven on display and a pizza menu, I wouldn't expect a heated up frozen pizza.

Stayed for a night in March. Friendly service, decent room and very good food indeed. Surpassed expectations. Chef is excellent. Good bookshop close by and near to Cromford canal. Thank you.

We had a lovely last minute stay at the weekend after our plans to stay with family were cancelled due to the dreaded covid reaching their home! Our room was lovely with an excellent tea tray. We were blown away by our dinner and had such excellent service throughout. Unfortunately our King bed had a mattress which we found very uncomfortable but to be honest, everything else was so good that it didn't have the impact it would have had normally and we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We plan to stop again if our family don't mind us ditching them for a night here but would ask for a different room

It was an absolutely superb pub in a historic setting. The interior is tastefully decorated.Professional and friendly staff.Anyone new to this are should WIS it the lake 2 minutes from this pub, a giant mill wheel only a minute away from this pub and more historic irrigation mill site about 4 to 5 minutes from herePlenty of parking space and close to cafes and shops

This is a lovely Hotel, the staff are so helpful and friendly. The room was clean and tidy and the bed really comfortable. Dinner was really enjoyable the starters and the wood fired pizza were excellent. A great selection of beers, wines and spirits. A comfortable lounge as well to sit and enjoy an after dinner drink. The breakfast was substantial and I would recommend the porridge as it was delicious. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
