Absolutely shocking menu £16.95 for a burger only 5 things on the bloody menu .. what’s has happened to this place used to have a nice assortment of food and not as dear as it is now .. even a piece of quiche is 16 quid… so not worth the money will not be coming again anytime soon !!!

·

Absolutely first class pub. Great beer, excellent atmosphere and superb staff. We'll be back for sure

·

Very poor last Friday. Practically ran out of all food. Booking made week earlier and confirmed on the day not acted on. Young manager did her best not her fault but organisation very poor

·

Lovely welcoming pub we went in tired and wet on a long walk, and were made very welcome, warm fire to dry off by, and lovely coffee, welcoming staff, would definitely recommend, and will definitely be back,

We met up with my wife's brother and wife, after more than a year (obvious reasons). We all got into their car, for the short drive to the Punchbowl for lunch. I would not have found it without detailed directions. The trip was well worth it, we all enjoyed the Sunday roast lunch. The beef was so tender that a knife was hardly necessary. The whole experience was well worth the visit, excellent service, food and drinks. Even with all the present health regulations/advice, we were welcomed and made to feel 'at home '.

Really good food and service. Chef went out of his way to accommodate different dietary requirements in our group of 8. Totally recommended.

·

Fantastic family run pub with a small but sweet menu with the pub classics ate here a few times now and never ever had a bad meal the pies are lovely! Very accommodating and helpful friendly staff would definitely recommend

Old style country pub in the smart village of Askham. Friendly staff and good service. Food is good from a small menu and the homemade pies are very good. All fairly priced. Beer quality could have been better but had worse. Would definitely go again!
