Ego Mediterranean Restaurant - Lytham in Fylde

After hearing some great reviews I was very disappointed. Food was awesome but service did not meet my expectations. Waiting over an hour between starter and main course. Staff were not attentive, I was only asked if I wanted a beverage when I caught our waiters eye, even though there was plenty of staff waiting around the bar. Such a pity but I won't be going back.

Visited Ego last night (Friday) with my family, a party of 6, to celebrate my sister visiting from Switzerland for the first time in 3 years due to the pandemic. This is not our first visit to Ego but after a long absence as always we found it to be outstanding in every way.The evening menu choice was hugely varied, something for every taste and cooked to delightful perfection. The drinks choice was similarly extensive and the choice of sweets more than sufficient from plain to plain indulgent.I have to mention of course that the service was outstanding, polite and efficient from all members of staff who attended to our party, but in particular would like to mention Liam who's courteous, attentive and cheerful manner made us all feel welcome and comfortable. He saw to our every need, constantly checking to see that we were happy with every detail making sure it was his responsibility that we felt special as if there was only us in this very busy restaurant.Outstanding in every way Ego is our go to restaurant of choice for that special evening and after the most difficult of times for us all, business and clientele alike, we are so happy to see that this venue maintains and remains to offer us the highest standards in restaurant hospitality.

The food was alright, but I wouldn't say it was worth the high prices. Some of it was very nice (belly pork) and some of it was terrible (chorizo).The staff were pleasant, but it was very slow service. We were waiting a long time to order and also between courses. Nobody asked us how any of the food was at any point throughout the evening.Overall, underwhelming.

Went to Ego for a Birthday lunch on Sunday at 1 o'clock what a disappointing experience it was. The restaurant had only a handful of tables full after about 15 minutes our order was taken and we as for the child's pasta to come as soon as they could after around 35 minutes our starters arrived average at best then we had to wait almost 40 minutes for the mains to arrive and finally the child's pasta arrived. We had 2 hanging kebabs which were overcooked and cold a sirloin which was overcooked and 2 salads with chicken which at £16 plus was appalling, we sent the kebabs back they came back 2 minutes later almost as cold as before so at this point we refused them, to be fair we were asked if we wanted something else but by the time it took everyone else would have finished. On asking for the bill the kebabs had been taken off and money was taken off after explaining that no one enjoyed it because of the appalling service but the " manageress" made a remark about maybe we should sack our chef!! Obviously they don't take customer complaints seriously, we will not be returning. I had to give 1 star otherwise I couldn't post the review.

Just enjoyed another lovely late lunch here today with our little grandson to celebrate his belated 3rd Birthday! The food is consistently good and we were looked after by the delightful Chloe who always gives an excellent service and always has a happy smiling face. It’s such a pleasure to see someone like this enjoying her job and making us feel so welcome! Our grandson enjoyed his pasta made by chef Ben who kindly gave him a chefs hat to take home. He was made up with it and thank you to you all!

Ego are having a fixed price menu for January. £4.95 for starters and desserts and either £5 or £7 for mains. We had all 3 courses. Service was attentive and quick. The meals were beautiful. We didn’t wait long for any of our courses, even though it was busy. There was a warm and welcoming vibe with pleasant music. Excellent. Will definitely return. 5***** well deserved.

Nice food. Long waiting times on day in question and unfortunately a gluten free dish order was not prepared gluten free as contained cous cous. The staff arranged for it to be prepared again and the cost of that dish was taken off the bill. However overall the food was good and we appreciate that staff took action at the time and following review further feedback is being given to kitchen staff.

I live locally but have never been to Ego. My mistake.Went with a friend tonight and had a really wonderful meal: prawns, chicken, chocolate brownie all from the fixed price menu. Food amazing and very attentive service.Will definitely be returning and would happily recommend.

Wish we could give more than 5*Had a fabulous lunch today, with food, service and staff superb. Wonderful outdoor space where we enjoyed the sunshine but inside also excellent. Everywhere inside and out is spotless. Nice to see a Lunch Menu for lighter diners which is very reasonable, also a Fixed Price 2 or 3 course, also very reasonable. Do not bypass this lovely restaurant, you will not regret it. Wish we lived nearby but unfortunately we're 2 hours away, just enjoying a day at the seaside ☺️

Ego has never let us down. With more and more competition opening up - all of which we've tried - and some we use regularly; it's telling that when we want to book somewhere for a special occasion, we always choose Ego, because we have absolute confidence in them. The food is always good, and the service is friendly and attentive, without being intrusive.
