The Boot and Shoe Elswick in Fylde

Was the forgotten pub in Elswick but now a really decent place with excellent food. The Barnsley chop was excellent.

Great pub, great atmosphere. The Sunday quiz is unbeatable (so is our team😉). Bob is a great man - friendly and a good laugh, as are all the other staff! Would be nice to have a better cider on draft but I drink strongbow anyway because the pub is worth the not so great cider.

Good food. Italian job, Butterfly chicken smothered with onions, peppers, mushroom, tomatoes and garlic, topped with melted cheese, very nice!

Quality quality quality, excellent service , excellent food in a great family pub . You’ll travel a long way to find better.

Disappointed in the 30 min plus wait tonight for food especially as the place wasn't that busy. We were told it was fine to order food when wearrived around 7pm. Whilst we waited for our drinks a bigger party of people came in, then when we asked to order food we were told that now we would have to wait a long time because of the big table that has come in 20 mins after us, the waitress was clearly trying to put us off ordering food. Unfortunately as it was now 7.30 and my young son was with us we needed some food for him so I told her that we would need to order food still.The burger and onion rings were nice and hot but chips were cold. The staff spent a lot of time talking to customers they obviously knew and ignored people waiting and very slow to wait on other tables

Really nice food, big portions, good childs menu.. staff were very friendly and welcoming! Great atmosphere, lovely little treat out.. would reccomend :)

After reading the latest complimentary reviews decided to see for ourselves. The reputation of this public house has suffered in recent years. The reviews are bang on. The meal was excellent value for money with reasonably priced drinks. The staff made us feel very welcome, and will definitely be returning.

I moved to the local earlier in the summer and have eaten at some really nice places, this is another. Food was very tasty and service very attentive. What sets this place apart though is that it feels like a proper pub and has a great atmosphere. The fact I've been in three times in the past 6 days says it all really.

Our first visit but it won't be our lastThis was our first visit to the Boot. We have passed it a few time but tonight decided to give it a try. We were a bit perturbed when we arrived as we were the only customers but it was early and we got a warm welcome from Lee so we decided to stay and try the food.We were not disappointed. My wife had the Thai fish cakes and said they were the best she has ever tasted and my mixed grill was certainly up there with the best.Lamb chop,steak,gammon,onion rings,mushrooms,tomatoes black pudding and a bowl of lovely chips which sadly I couldn't eat because I was bursting. fantastic value and I just wish we lived nearer. Anyway we will return.
