Love this restaurant, been many times over the years and a warm reception is always had. The mussels are amazing along with the artisan bread. Delicious steaks and sides. The raw milk and chocolate gelato is wonderful. Great food, atmosphere and quirky deco makes this place a real charm.

Firstly the setting is stunning, and the welcome you get upon arrival is very warm indeed. The food itself was as you'd expect at this type of establishment, that said, the pigeon starter was a bit disappointing for me.Our table was set in one of the rooms outside the main building and had a rustic charm about it. On the downside the toilet facilities are limited as there is only one shared loo for both men and women and you can end up waiting in line which is not what you'd expect.Service was very good but as a generous tipper normally, I do strongly disagree with having a 10% service charge added to my bill before hand and being told when it's delivered to the table that it's discretionary. As a group of 4 with a bill of £230, we would have left a £20 tip anyway but to have the £23 automatically added is a bit presumptious. Some people who may not want to leave a tip may find it embarrassing to ask for the charge to be removed. All in all we had a good night with our friends, but would I rush back, probably not.

A surprise 50th birthday for me. An amazingly beautiful and seamless night from the Cartford. My husband (who arranged) wanted to give special thanks to Rachel, Alex, Emily and the kitchen and especially to Simon W Brady who provided the entertainment. Just excellent, no other words for it! Well done Cartford!!!

Love the food choice, including Gluten free. Peaceful location, with scenic views.Brilliant idea, enjoying best of both.Enjoy your food, taking in the scenery, whilst sitting in a heated, ornately decorated greenhouse!

Went for a meal with my brother at short notice and have to say it was the best food I have had for a long time.Pheasant ballotine for start, confit duck leg for main, which had every taste bud sensation, then finished with lemon meringue and rhubarb…wow! Can’t believe that this standard of food is within walking distance for me.It really was first class food!Well done Julie, Patrick and the team.

Would have been a lovely place to stop for a drink mid-way through our dog walk along the river today with my partner, two kids and a very well behaved dog. Such a lovely setting to sit and watch the world go by outside; had we had a better experience we might have ordered from the lunch menu. What a shame! We sat down in the outside area and I went to order two coffees and drinks for the kids to be told that because we had a dog we weren't welcome! The reception was frosty and the young girl in the cafe was rude. No signage to advise of this policy and it was quite frankly embarrassing. We won't be back!

Sublime in all areas-from the staff to the food ! Can't fault anything -lovely setting by the Wyre -plenty of car parking space-to the toti deli outside and the gallery selling art and handmade jewellery! Food and service are on a level found in top class places ! A really different menu -featuring fish and meat -all prepared and presented perfectly ! I will be back soon !

Fabulous place. Just decided to have a Friday lunch treat with family. What a fantastic idea using the "uniquely styled" greenhouses (with option to heat ) to enjoy your lunch / meal...genius!!Food choice & quality lovely. 👌Overall experience excellent thanks.

Had a lunch and dinner here last year. Excellent food both times. As was the friendly and efficient service. Will be back soon. Good weather so sat outside, late into the evening with the family for the evening meal, ......Inside looks beautiful though. Walk passed with my dogs most mornings......itching to try the breakfast! ☺
