We booked here to celebrate mothers day and for my mother in laws birthday (both on the same day), it's the first time I've been to the River Wyre and I am very impressed by all aspects. The staff were very welcoming, the young waiter who served us was lovely; he had a chat with us, shared a few jokes and was lovely to my 3 young children. The food was wonderful, I had the duck and ate every bit, my 8 year old autistic son even tried and enjoyed it. There was something for everyone on the menu. The staff, upon learning that it was my mother in laws birthday, brought out a little pot of ice cream with a candle in it and they all sang happy birthday to her. We got our puddings to go, and when we went up to the bar to pay, the young man who took our payment was again very lovely and chatty. Every member of staff were wonderful and served us with a smile and couldn't do enough to help, even when the restaurant was full of diners. The manageress was very sweet, she asked if we enjoyed our meals, asked if there was anything else we needed and also avenged for me to have the creme brulee as a takeaway dessert without it being mushed up in the takeaway box. My family will be coming back here again, we all felt very respected and comfortable. There is ample parking and disabled parking available, too. Both the outside and inside are very clean and sanitary, including both the male and female toilets. 10/10, definitely recommend.

On walking in we was greeted by a member of staff and taken to a table. We was mainly served buy a waiter by the name of Cameron this member of staff is a very polite young man. We ordered starters and then a main meal. The food was very nice and served and presented very nicely the only issue i had was that there was enough food for the price. I went home and mend myself something to eat.

Lovely Sunday lunch , had the trio of meats followed by rhubarb & polenta dessert with custard . 1st time visit, lovely inside, fire was blazing so comfy and warm. Looked after by a young lady called Leah, who was pleasant, very attentive and extremely good at her job 😊. Really enjoyed it, highly recommended and will definitely be returning. 👍

The food is good and the staff are helpful. Not for you if your looking for the cheaper end of the eating out market, a little pricey, though good for a special treat. Lovely log fire perfect in winter

Visited here as a large party with children and dogs. Food was amazing, great service. The staff were brilliant, really friendly and so accommodating with the dogs and the children. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They gave the dogs treats and water. We were made to feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely day Christmas dinner here service 10/10 very friendly welcoming staff. We was a big table of 13 with 5 small children and couldn’t ask for more. Food was delicious especially the beef Wellington made my Christmas Day extra special Thankyou to all the staff you was amazing will definitely be coming back soon.

A good 35 minute walk to the restaurant and we’ll worth the walk at that.Shown to our table and drinks ordered. Our food order was taken within 5 minutes, with the starter arriving 10 minutes later. A good pause before our mains, turkey Sunday lunch and the steak ordered. Really good food, hot and tasty, no rush to finish.Another pause and the Christmas pud arrived. Generous helping if pud, a little extra rum sauce/custard would not go amiss.Table booked for 13.15. We sat down at 13.15The walk home started at 16.30, time certainly speeds by when your enjoying your meal.

Really disappointed with the food. All starters were poor. Our party had two turkey dinners and the two different vegetarian options from the festive menu - one of which came with a plateful of tiny potato tots you'd give to a child, the other was a vegetable roast which only tasted like sage. All the veg tasted from the freezer and was overcooked. When we came they weren't very busy but service was very slow and left plates on the table at the end. The price for a two course festive menu was more expensive than another chain of pub/restaurants we go to which are far superior in every way, with chef cooked meals. Sadly we won't be returning, such a shame, we were hoping this would be great food to come often as we've not long moved round the corner.

Service was good, staff were friendly and very keen to please, the young lad who served us stated he was new but handled the job well and with a smile and even had a joke and provided drink recommendations. Did get slightly overbearing with three members coming up to us while we were eating to ask how everything was.Starters were nice, baked camembert and tomato soup (although the butter was on the plate nearly in puddle instead of in the empty dish)Main meal - plant burger was very nice and had good flavour, burger sauce was very peppery, chips were ok. Partner had the lamb, he advised the lamb was tough.Overall not to bad but felt bit pricey for what it was.
