Morrisons Cafe in Halton

Currently sitting in Morrison's cafe, Widnes. Oh dear what has happened, there was a time when the cafe was excellent value for money; no longer the case. Bland tasteless food, no garnish with the toastie I ordered, just two slices of toast with a little cheese inbetween. Dont supply onion was the reply when I asked. My friend was served his food with butter that has obviously been left on the grill and leaked all over the table when opened. Certainly will not visit this cafe again.

Has to be one of the worst Morrisons cafes, No problem with the staff, but the place is in serious need of a deep clean. The hot drinks machine is filthy, sticky tables and worn out furniture. Food presentation is non existent. I generally like eating in Morrisons cafes but I’ll be giving the Widnes one a miss.

Been waiting half an hour for a breakfast. If you advertise you open at 7am, then have the courtesy to be up and running .. absolute disgraceful way to treat customers .

Went there today on 5th Jan 22, what an eye saw, avsolute filthy cafe, very very poor staff who i can only imagine must live in squalor themselfs if they consider this cafe clean. Dirty sticky tables, no cleanliness around the coffee machines, no sachets of sugar just loose sugar in a jar. The staff have abysmal attitudes and are no help what so ever. I wouldnt chance eating anything here in these present times, i can honestly say its one of the worst morrisons cafes ive been in and the mangeress who i complained too was arrogant and did not take on board the problems that exsist in this cafe. Shes the one to overlook and make the cafe experiance better i can only assume whoever hired her were desperate to employ someone at the time. I wouldnt advise anyone to eat or even have a drink here, its an utter shambles and a very dirty and poor run cafe.

Coffee is great in this cafe . Chips are to hard in the middle to eat . Not sure where they get the chips from but there not great. Maybe they should try them out them self. And they Would know there not great chips.

2 large fry ups which weren't large a totally vile breakfast for a food chain which charges 60 p a bag you would think they will serve a decent fry

The food was lovely and so were the staff. The issue here was that service was very slow and everything was confused. It wasn't clear whether we were supposed to order on our phones or queue up as normal. Food arrived but drinks didn't come and we were told later on that drinks are self service. The cafe was chronically understaffed for how busy it was and we really felt sorry for the staff who were found their best under the circumstances. It seemed that 2 people were doing everything and the cafe was extremely busy.

I hate giving poor reviews but this place has gone downhill remarkably fast. The food itself is generally pretty good and the staff are lovely, but the main problem is nothing is ever available. From teacakes to lasagne and fish & chips, little is generally available. The unavailability list at the till was twice as long as the menu! No criticism of the staff but their morale seems low. When I asked why products were unavailable when you have a shop-full of them I was told..."sorry sir everything has to be brought in from outside ". Come on Morrisson's Management get a grip and get back to the way you were

Updated 10 months later. Downgraded from 2 stars to 1 star. Staff obviously not happy in their work. Waited ages to pay. Paid £1.50 for a black coffee to find 1 coffee machine closed "for cleaning" and the other with no coffee in! Cups still stained. Tables dirty... obviously no improvement since my last visit, in fact I would go as far as saying the cafe has got worse.Called in for coffee with a friend. Trying to find a clean cup was like searching for a needle in a hay stack! Mentioned the fact that all the cups were stained to the lady on the till. She said it was because they're not allowed to bleach them! Don't they wash cups?!Just to add insult to injury, the coffee machine overfills the cup, white foam dripping all down the side of the cup when then sets like marshmallow.I'm not a frequent Morrison cafe customer, but I've just become an ex customer. Cleanliness leaves much to be desired.

Clearing up and staff availability are a lot to be desired. Stupid prices for a hot drink (and sandwiches) and more often than not, there isn't enough cutlery and to get milk is a mission. Whoever puts the cutlery back, doesnt wear any type of gloves so let's hope they've washed their hands and don't have the same standards when wiping down the highchairs.. . Really inadequate seating space for anyone and others that require a wheelchair or pram and it's often a struggle to get out the Cafe, regardless of shopping etc, due to the exit/entrance being directly adjacent to to the tills. Madness.
