The main courses (fish and chips and chicken in mushroom sauce) were delicious but the deserts were a disappointment. The crumble tasted burnt and the tiny cheesecake was a total ripoff at £6.50. I have never seen a cheesecake so small. The young man who served us was a delight - smiley, friendly and very welcoming.

Went today for lunch , was given a lunch time menu x asked to choose our seats , then ordered drinks x sat for about 10min looking at the menu x decided what we wanted , then member of staff came over x we thought he was going to take our orders but told us the Fryers weren’t working x didn’t know how long we had to wait, as I was on lunch from work couldn’t stay. Asked if we had to pay for our drinks x yes we did , complained about not telling us when we walked in , he said he didn’t know then ….. the pub had been opened for about half hour how did he not know ? The least he could have done was to not charge for our drinks which we didn’t drink. Will not be going back RUDE

the britannia is a lovely place to go for food and drinks. me and my partner went on the off chance and im glad we did.The food is excellent we was sat in a quiet little corner near the kitchen the staff were pleasant and the food comes quickly and cooked. it's a little pricey for pub food but this isn't your average pub food. but I didn't mind as its really good quality and well presented.would definitely go back here. its the 3rd time now but always gets better. last time was when pubs reopened for outdoor dining in 2021 the britannia only had a limited menu then but service and quality was still there. glad we went back like I said its only gotten better for us. they accept dogs indoors too.all in all I would recommend the britannia full and a happy service. we'll done to all the staff at the britannia. 10/10.

Had tea out with our daughter last night. Homemade pies are fabulous. Staff really welcoming and great with our 4 year old. They also do a kids menu. Really cosy place and will certainly go again

Was really looking forward to having a meal here with my son and daughter-in-law following a long journey from Norfolk, sadly it did disappoint in everyway, the only praise I can give is that the Manager was amicable and understanding when it came to our complaints by giving us a considerable discount. We settled our bill and left.

I meet my Sis here as it’s between where we live. Last time we sat outside on the balcony and this time inside. What a fab pub this is !! The decor is lovely and the staff looked after us so well. The food was really nice and great prices too. They had a guy playing guitar songs too !! It’s our regular meet up now with more family gatherings in the pipeline. Thanks to all the staff and owner for a top class pub.

Tea out with family & was absolutely lovely. The Christmas decorations were beautiful, the place was warm we were seated in front of a constantly refilled log burner. The Britannia was cosy with some Christmas tunes playing in the background. Our food was excellent, the staff were attentive, polite & helpful. All of us will most certainly be back!Well done to the team 👏 👍 🙌

Would've been a 4 maybe 5* but it was just one of those nights I guess! Food took an age to arrive, they forgot my meal off the order (didn't go hungry as I pinched a few bits from the others I was dining with, the food I sampled was very good, every cloud and all that 👍🏻) so in the end I cancelled my burger as my family had already finished their meal before I'd got mine at the second attempt! But as a good will gesture they knocked the drinks off the bill! As I said maybe it was just one of those things! Lovely setting just could've done putting the heating up a tad, I was dithering at one point!

I don't normally write bad reviews but here goes. The venue is clean and staff friendly. That said I was there with my partner and ordered the shoulder of lamb with garlic and rosemary with red wine jus and creamy mash. Firstly the incorrect order was brought to the table. Apologies were made in fairness to the front of house staff and after what felt like forever, our meals arrived. My partner ordered the pork belly which was fine, mine however was something else. Bare in mind I have been a head chef for over half my life. What arrived was lamb but obviously left over minted lamb from another dish with the same gravy as the pork belly on my partner's plate. Mint and gravy really don't go together. There was no red wine jus, garlic or rosemary jus and the mash was anything but creamy! I highlighted this to the staff that made apologies and promised a discount. When I went to settle the bill this never happened. I won't be back.
