Excellent GF chicken dish, recommended by the lovely waitress. Good service, excellent meal, lovely surroundings.

Went last Friday with my wife, long wait for food, but acceptable as it was busy, all was going great until I found a circular piece of greaseproof paper in the middle of my cheese pie, left the meal after this, paid in full and told head waitress, she apologised and said she would get the chef to call me and apologise after service was finished, no problem, …..still waiting for his call!

Came here for my birthday and was treated like an absolute Queen. Came out with cake for me after hubby told them it was my birthday. The food was totally delicious and we all enjoyed our meals. Service was excellent and Bekki on the bar is an absolute credit to the pub. Can't wait to go back.

Fresh and great value food, cooked to order. Book a table to avoid disappointment.Sticky toffee pudding is amazing.

Service was very slow, waited over 45 minutes for breakfast. coffees were tiny & we weren't asked if we wanted anymore drinks, but the food was great when it came.

Lovely little pub and cafe with a fine selection of food and beverages. Lovely cosy atmosphere in the bar area which is dog friendly. Food was really nice and service was efficient and extremely friendly. My only critique would be needs calmer music in the day with no radio (too much talking πŸ˜‚) and I do think it is over priced. Β£40 for 2 of us, no starters and no alcohol. Bit steep imho. It's a shame because we simply can't afford to eat there regularly at those prices, even though we would like to. I must say I wish we could, because other than that it was excellent!

Called in at the dog inn after shopping in Blackburn, absolutely amazing food my husband had the haddock,he said it was the best he'd had, even the batter was delicious , I had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection, the staff were very friendly,we will definitely be going back lovely little pub 😘

Slightly biased as I'm a member of staff but if you're looking for a place with a quiet, friendly atmosphere then I couldn't think of a better place. Regular community events and the occasional live music performance is sure to bring in a crowd. The staff are great too! 😁

This was a top notch little find on the way home from a day out. Missed out on fish and chips in Southport and due to covid-19 we struggled getting in anywhere for a Sunday carvery, but we managed here and I'm so glad we did. Ok didn't get the carvery I was after, but still managed roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. I had garlic mushroom for starters, omg, tasting these I was desperate to get to my main course, they were so good! The roast beef had a flame grilled flavour, hmmmm, a sweet roast carrot, pickled red cabbage, smooth creamy mash, a proper Yorkshire pudding just like your nan used to make, proper gravy (non of this packet stuff) and omg the roast potatoes, fluffy, crunchy and so tasty, I could go back right now for a plateful!! The only thing I want sure about was the cheesy cauliflower, had a weird taste to it (possibly mustard) then Eton mess for dessert, with freshly made meringue, chewy in the middle and crunchy on the outside, perfect. This is the type of place you can't wait to go back and share with friends.
