Whitakers Arms in Hyndburn

Went here for a wake held in the function room.The room itself felt tired and dated, it felt unloved.The staff however were lovely and the food was pretty good, especially the chips. Though the pies should have been labelled as we had no idea what filling was in them and there were 3 to choose from.Good sized car parkVery conveniently placed pub for holding a wake, as it is directly opposite the cemetery.

Had my son's wake here in January, £8.95 a person paid for 35 people upfront and about enough food to feed 10-14 people. When another wake walked in we couldn't get served ,whereas they told me they opened just for us, no fire lit as requested. Changed management after I booked it, a couple of young people seem to be at the fore front.Complained that there wasn't enough food and got extra(undercooked) chips and cake. Absolutely disgusted that they take advantage of someone's bereavement. DO NOT USE.

Will not return !! Coke was flat, salt and pepper chicken wings where just fried wings with fried breadcrumbs no seasoning that’s all you could taste, cheeseburgers where overcooked with fatty slimy bacon- told the owners and they just said I’ll tell the chef no discount at all or push to make us return, for new owners I’m not sure they will get that far.

Staff were nice pub seamed warm with friendly people

The food was horrible, supposed to be under new management. We'd heard good things. Not sure why. If my partner had eaten her slimy chicken burger, she would have definitely been ill. It was disgusting.nit wasn't cooked properly and caked in slimy fish batter( as they had ran out of southern fried coating). They took it away and brought it back when I had finished my meal. I ate alone, then we left as the chicken burger was the same one they had taken away with the batter scraped off it. The chef even had the audacity to ask what was wrong with the food. The pie and chips I had wasn't nice either. The chips weren't cooked and the pie was small and dry. It was possibly the worst meal we have ever been served. We will not be back.

Absolutely fantastic food that's good quality and fresh. You won't go home hungry either! The pub was very clean and well kept with top service from the staff. Id highly reccomend a visit if you haven't before. I'll be returning again in future!

Friendly staff, food was fantastic. More pictures needed to provide evidence. I ate braised beef, was presented like restaurant style. For pudding had sticky toffee pudding, which I highly recommend.Shall return for defendant in the future

Well to say that a lot of time was had to stage a new opening to the masses so as far as I’m concerned all should have run like clockwork enticing customers to come back for great food and drink but;# To wait for over 20 minutes for a beer is shocking !# No menu presented ?# Waiter staff had no clue what they were doing !# Planning by management ?# Fish and chips ok, lacked taste/seasoning and a tad oily# The captive audience is here, please them !# Chairs lay broken to the floor, umbrellas lay upside or just collapsed and lay on the floor fir a tripping hazard# Hire runners to collect dirty plates and glasses-let waiters wait only# A nice fire pit or two to sit around would have been good !# A mobile bar outside would be good to reduce waiter runs and fill orders quicker# Serviettes?# Cutlery, sauces should be at the table before the foodWhat a million pound site that could make millions but lacks the mechanics to steer it in the right direction. What a waste of money for a poor 1st beer out !

The service and food are extremely good, well worth the money. We shall be back x

Went here with family for Sunday dinner. Good food menu with plenty to choose from. Has children's menu for smaller portions. Beer was good. Food was excellent. Pool table and cosy real fire. Plenty of free parking. Staff are friendly and helpful.
