Wow just got a salt and pepper king prawn and was too hot to even eat i never asked for it to be spicey at all so why do it never been that hot from there in me life what a waste

I've been eating food from this chippy for over 20 years now - before it was GW's. . .Ended up calling in there last night about 7.30pm. It was -2°C and the warmth was a welcome relief from the Christmas cold outside as I'd walked there. I hadn't used this place for months.Greeted with a cheery smile from the girl behind the counter! I ordered fish&chips but had to wait ten mins for a freshly fried fish - no problem!Whilst I was there the delivery guy absolutely loaded up his van with tons of food - so they're busy! Several customers happily came and went with their food with no problems."Fish&Chips! - Salt&vinegar Mate?" err "yes please and a carton of curry".Off I went - got home, stuck Strictly on and tucked in. Fish was huge and cooked beautifully- deep crispy crunchy batter. Fish was white, moist and flaky- not too greasy. Chips were nice! Not warm ups, good size portion with the right amount of salt&vinegar - classic fish&chips done perfectly!What I'm getting at here is this place is okay. The food is nice and the staff are great. I've never had an issue personally. I don't know anybody here - I just pop in every few months. Yes, I've had deliveries, also no issues there. Also I noticed a review saying it was dirty! If you care to check Knowsley Borough Councils hygiene rating for Gerry Wongs it's actually stated as a 4 which is 'good' and therefore compliant with food standards regulations.So, over the years from here my favourite meal is Duck Ginger Spring Onion with boiled rice, incredible flavour and plenty of duck! The Salt&Pepper Chicken is nice too. Oh and Fish&Chips of course. Worth a try and if you don't like it, there's a million other chippys in Kirkby 👍🏼 - probably too many if I'm honest.

Tasted better chips not a good meal crispy chilli beef was horrible tuff like leather never again

dont know whats happened to this takeaway use to be my favourite the sweet and sour is awful ive just left the whole meal could not chew the chicken it was coated in what i can only call rice crispy batter awful worst ive ever tasted in my life. would deffo not recommend.

Told 40 mins for delivery turned to 120 mins (That’s 2 hours after ordered, but there was a phone call after 80 mins) . That’s said the food was delicious so will order again but probably collect.

Very dirty place. Doesn't look clean behind the counter. Staff could murder you for walking in just before closing. This was the number one chippy in kirkby 10 years ago. But probably the worst now. The owners should take a trip to westvale and look at the difference in woks cooking and food for thought. Maybe then you'll get better standards

Lovely food, nice staff, good prices. The spring rolls are to die for! The only issue I have is that sometimes the portions are on the small side with the meals, small box anyway and then it's only half full, but that doesn't happen that often and I still wouldn't get from anywhere else. This place is really clean and as I say, the food is delicious! 👍
