Staff not exactly welcoming, more confusion than anything. Left without eating, after waiting 1hr+. Only 1 meal available & no cavery on Father's Day. I was declined a menu, then saw others being served various meals. I saw multiple unhappy customers. Staff had no clue, terrible service.

This used to be a favourite place to eat before Covid...we live locally. Very poor service and food tonight. Dried up scampi...hard chips.....took ages to serve us. They hadn't even got our booking logged in!! Won't be visiting again.

We had a late lunch hereService was excellent very welcoming to us and our dogs!We all had the homemade soup which was delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so we took takeaway portions home to have at home the next day100% recommend this place.

On arrival we had our order taken by Tina who took our food order and said she would return to take our drink order. We sat and waited for 20 min and then went to the bar ourselves. Food arrived after 1hr+ and there was 9 of us eating. When the food eventually arrived my nephew had a long dark hair in his steak. My daughters sausage was burnt. My steak which I asked for medium rare was well done/ burnt my chips were over cooked to an inch of their life. My dad’s onion rings were burnt, overall absolutely disgusting food and the waitress Tina was rude and unhelpful. I got offered 10% off my meal which I refused. They eventually agreed to take off my daughters burnt meal which she didn’t touch. I would have refused to pay anything but didn’t want to make a scene and Tina was extremely argumentative. Her customer service is shocking and staff training is highly recommended.

I have left a one star review as I am unable to leave no stars. What a disappointing experience. Over cooked food. Hair in the food. Staff with zero customer experience skills. I would neither go back or recommend. If you are unfortunate enough to be served by "Tina" be prepared for rolling eyes and a bad attitude. In response to your reply - I have not mentioned the wait for food, as we WERE advised that there would be a wait. However, when ordering the food we asked to place the drinks order and Tina said that she would put the food order in first "so we can get that started" and come back and take the drinks order. We waited 20 minutes and then decided (rather than cause a fuss) to go to the bar and order the drinks there. The steak that we had asked for medium rare was overcooked, but we had waited over an hour at this point so my daughter decided to accept it rather than send it back and wait even longer. The hair that my grandson found on his steak he pulled out of his mouth and it wasn't until the end of the meal that he made us aware of this. The sauce that my grandson was given for his burger he was told was BBQ. It was only after he put it on that he realised that it wasn't the BBQ sauce he was expecting. My daughter tasted the sauce and spoke to Tina to ask what sauce it was as it didn't taste like BBQ sauce. Tina explained that it was a "hickory sauce" Our food was brought by a young male And Tina, so I am unsure who is giving you the incorrect information. My daughter advised on receiving the bill that she would not be paying for the childs sausage meal as the sausages were burnt black and therefore unsuitable to eat and as a consequence my granddaughter had gone without a meal. As for the table being a mess, there was some sauce that was on the table and my daughter used a napkin to clear it before we left. There was no sugar spillage at that time, so I am unsure what you are referring to? Tina has no customer service skills, when we asked for the bills to be separate she looked at us as though this was an inconvenience. If any one of the incidents had been isolated, we would not have an issue. But it was not a good experience from the beginning and then the way that our feedback was handled just made the situation worse. This was the reason that we then decided that it was unacceptable. If you would like to discuss this face to face I am more than happy to call in as we are local. I only usual leave positive feedback so I have not left this feedback without thinking that it was absolute necessary.

Great overnight stop on the way northRoom was clean and tidy food was very good.. hospitality very good.TV could have been a bit bigger for the size of room. Not a complaint a observation.

Walked in for lunch, not properly welcomed. Paninis good value, service rather slow. Waited 45 mins for it. Girl in bar didn't know what dry ginger with a dash of lime, was!

A gem of a hotel! Our diving club booked up a few rooms for a Capernwray trip and will definitely be returning!Rooms:We stayed in a 4 person 'room' that consisted of a very large double bedroom with all the usual fixings plus a 'living room' type area, a second bedroom with two singles (TVs etc in both rooms with internet connections) and a bathroom with a full sized bath and shower. Rooms were comfy, well kept and clean. Bathroom was good, a little worn on the grouting but considering everything else, in no way am I going to hold that against it! Rooms were quiet and I couldn't head anything from other rooms/stairs etc.Car parking is available and right next to the rooms and it's nice that the pub/restaurant is separate from the hotel part as that helps to keep noise contamination down.Location:Really good location with nearby shops (Aldi opposite) and a 5 minute drive from Capernwray diving centre!Pub/restaurant:Good food for the price. It's not 'spoons cheap but the quality is there, prices are typical pub prices. I think I paid about ÂŁ10-12 for a decent 10 inch pizza. Good drink selection and friendly bar staff with reasonable prices. The drinking/eating area is nicely laid out with the ability to book tables if you want to guarantee seating. Cosy but modern! We booked for breakfast to be included and there was a decent selection of menu items, the usual British breakfast options; omelettes, full English, breakfast buns etc. Worth adding on to the cost of the room. There's also self serve cereals, jams/honey, coffee/tea and juices to have whilst you wait. Will definitely be returning. For the price and quality, I was really impressed. Thank you County Lodge for making our stay so comfortable and convenient!

I am not one to write scathing reviews of places, but today really turned my stomach... I have never had a more disgusting customer service from such an over-facing, unkind and impolite woman as the woman who served me today. Her sullen attitude really created a horrible atmosphere in the restaurant as my daughter and I came out for my birthday. The food was without fault - but overshadowed by this woman and her awful customer service, I was left to feel like a nuisance when she came to take our order, not to mention the continuous dirty looks that were being thrown our way throughout our visit. Not only this, but the way she spoke to her staff was downright awful. I feel sorry for anyone who has to come into contact with her as she seemed like a complete and utter bully. I would highly recommend the food here, but if this woman is in charge or going to be there regularly then I would steer clear! Very disgruntled at her complete lack of self awareness and kindness, we will not be eating here again.

Just had a lovely meal with a friend (16/02/22). Really like the new menu and the food was excellent. Well done to the Chef and team. First class and friendly service from Kate and Aaron too! Highly recommend for a pleasant evening. Thanks everyone!
