Over priced and over crowedNote enough toiletsVery very busyM&S staff fabby they managed to get our coach supplied with tea coffee eats no problem. As a diabetic I was so greatful for their assistanceOther than that I would not return.30 in wue for loo and really high volume of traffic.More attention to high foot traffic areas needed cleaning wise.

Great services on the border with the Lake District.A little rundown exterior compared to other motorwar services but has all the facilities you need.I am an electric car driver and there are a number of charge points here for all manner of cars. Only hitch is that there was only one rapid charge point for my Nissan Leaf and as there was a car using the other connector from the same machine my car would not charge until that car disconnected. Hmmm! There was an alternative fast charge point using my own cable but in my humble opinion - fast charge is far too slow for a service station - really has to be rapid charge to be effective.Still I do love these services with the traditional walkway across the motorway to access Southbound services as well as Northbound.Don't be put off by the slightly rundown exterior - a place to stop at in my books.

Only used the toilet facilities. Food quite expensive. Not high street prices. You are better going out by the police station ( no entry) and you will find a superb butty bar selling bacon, sausage etc etc fresh barms on the outside road! You can walk there from the carpark. Defo a good shout.

·

One disabled toilet out of use, with RADAR lock blocked off with duct tape. A second accessible loo was open, but floor behind the toilet was swimming with human waste. Soap dispenser was broken, and hand sanitiser dispenser at exit was empty. A sign was displayed on the shower room, but with no details of how to contact a duty manager to remediate the disgusting state of the accessible toilets. Will be crossing my legs and waiting for the Farm Shop services next time.

A unique and dramatically imposing building…. Lancaster Services, formerly named ‘Forton’ services, this iconic structure is remarkable and a memorable sight for anyone travelling on the M6.Built when the M6 was first opened, this tower originally had a popular restaurant with panoramic views across the area, however access was closed to the public amid health and safety concerns regarding safe evacuation in the event of an emergency. This lovely tower has been painted several varying colours over the years but my favourite was the turquoise colour.I decided to immortalise it in my latest drawing and an advert from the 1960’s just for authenticity.

Ok if you must stop, however there seems to be refurbishment work underway (Much overdue) I found only 4 disabled spaces northbound, one occupied by a sign-written works van!Inside the area looked clean enough but the disabled ground floor toilet was out of order, and the other toilets were upstairs by escalator. I found a lift, but poorly signed. I think could try harder fills the bill.

Good basic service area for a rest bite and to get fuel, something to eat etc

·

Very busy at the time of visit, the car spaces are tight, EV charging on site. Toilet facilities on the upper level, escalator going up, stairs going down. I think there is a lift but did not notice where it is as it was crowded. Long queue for the female toilet, one staff directing which way to go. Quite a tight corridor. BP petrol on site, costs approx. 20p/litre more compared to non-motorway BP forecourts.

·

We went here due to the multi-faith room.It has wudu facilities inside the roomThe room is nice and tidy.ONLY problem was that the room was extremely hot as we went when it was 29°c outside. The room had no windows that you can open and sun was shining bright inside, it had a little extractor fan but that did nothing in the heat. However it's a convenient place to pray whilst your on a journey.

It's the services we usually use northbound on the M6 and about the best although it's due a refurb really. All the usual trade/food outlets have a counter so the choice is good. What's the tower all about though. See pics.
