Customer service from manager was extremely poor. Been here many times and never been treated with disrespect. Tried to have a conversation with the the lady with dark hair who was the duty manager. Very very rude. Response was hmm ordered £60 bottle of champagne and asked for ice bucket which was too much like hard work for her slamming about because she had to go and get bigger ice bucket. This isn't the normal service we expect from here. We will not be coming back or advising our friends to come here which we normally do. What a horrible manger with no customer service skills at all. I have run hotels and pubs for 12 years and have never been so arrogant with my customers. Needs training or sacking in my opinion if she was my staff I would sack her. Not good enough at all

Very enjoyable overall, staff friendly and helpful; a couple of requests regarding the room were dealt with promptly and with total satisfaction. The menu is good; the only reservation I have is that the regular portions are far too big for me and even a 'small' portion was too much. The room was spacious, very comfortable and well equipped, with an extra chair and a small dressing table mirror being provided on request, together with a stool in the wet room.I was very impressed by the double glazing which cut out most of the noise from the busy road that we overlooked.

We went for a meal but didn't stay over as we're locals. The food was excellent and really tasty. Food prices are good value but drinks are a bit pricy. Staff were friendly and service good. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and had a warm feel to it. I highly recommend a visit!

Great hotel in a fabulous location. Well appointed rooms, great linens, towels and toiletries. Lovely dinner and breakfast and our group of six was well looked after at all times. We would certainly recommend this hotel for couples or groups.

This place is fab! Beautiful period building very tastefully decorated. Rooms are immaculate. Staff could not be more helpful. Breakfast really fresh and cooked to perfection. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

·

A very comfortable and quiet central hotel, despite being literally at a busy crossroad. The rooms are very quirky and lovely. The best part however is the breakfast, which is plenty and served in the beautiful dining room.

An excellent stay. Warm comfy room and great staff they were all really efficient and friendly. My eggs Florentine at breakfast was superb. Good location only slight issue is no parking but we were able to drop off our cases and find parking nearby.

·

Great location, breakfast was nice, rooms were clean and had everything you could wish for. You could hear doors closing in the corridors at night but I could have worn earplugs. Couldn't hear a thing from outside though even when the pub was in full swing. Great hotel really!

I usually stay at the Tollhouse in Lancaster when working locally. Staff are friendly and the food is great. Good choices on the menu and specials board too. There is also a good selection of real ale and cider. The breakfast is excellent. If driving, parking is limited, the public pay and display carpark is opposite, coins or phone app can be used to pay, not too expensive if you arrive after 6pm and leave before 8am, £1.50 overnight or free if you can find a spot on the road outside during the same times. The hotel rooms are very nice and real milk is available free of charge from the bar for making tea/coffee in your room.

Enjoyed our stay at The Toll House. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. There is limited parking but we were able to reserve a space when we booked. We also ate in the restaurant at night. The food was very good and service was excellent.
