First visit to this pub, felt uncomfortable when me & my family walked in. All heads turned & went very quiet & we felt like definite outsiders. Went to the bar, lady wasn't over welcoming & gave me 2 sheets of paper which wasn't the proper menu. Sat down & a young waitress came over & said that isn't the proper menu. Felt so unwelcome we left, won't be going back & won't recommend. Seems a bit cliquey. Very disappointed.

11 of us were on a motorcycle ride from Shipley in Yorkshire and we called into the Black Bull for some refreshments! The staff were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. The pub was having an Afternoon Tea event on Saturday so most of the tables were all dressed in white linen table cloths and China cups and plates. It looked amazing and was a brilliant idea. Even though they were busy sorting this out, nothing was too much trouble and even brought us some sandwiches and cake which was delicious. I hope that the Afternoon Tea event was a success and we will definitely be back again for some refreshments. ππ

Visited yesterday day, and having been before was interested too see how new owners were making their own mark.As it was Sunday, it was traditional Sunday lunch, which was a nice choice as many other places over complicate a simple Sunday meal with too many options.A choice of two meats, beef or Lamb but I asked for a mix, which was no trouble. We also had a selection of red cabbage, peas, mash, parsnips and carrots. Everything was hot fresh and obviously home cooked. The gravy was made with meat juices as it was flaked with meat which is wonderful as it is how I make my gravy. We also had a pudding of cheesecake and a toffee puddings. All very good and great value. It looks like decorating is in hand, and it is certainly coming up!We are booked in again next week and looking forward to it.

Stopped off here Sunday and had a lunch for 4. Never been before but had been told by some local friends who we had met up with, that the lads are putting alot of effort into turning the pub around.I must say the beef I had was 100% fatless, perfectly cooked and I found out it was from a local farm. With this; 6 vegetables and gravy and Yorkshire pudding for Β£7.95 and I left feeling full which is always good.We will be back!
