Budget food, very average menu not inspiring. Small prices small portions. Chatty staff but team confusion delayed staff taking food ordered. Tired interior furnishings. Could do with rethink overall package the pubare offering.

What a great find. Firstly the owner and staff make this place superb, and the locals are so friendly, worth a visit fir the chat. Then you must try the food, it speaks for itself. Spot on lovely and great value. It must be good if bikers from rossendale mcc keep calling for a nosh up and banter. Ps. Got a 5 van cl site attached with ecu. What's not to like*****

A typical olde English public house with low ceilings, black painted beams, white walls adorned with horse brasses and other antiquities. The usual pub food menu is well priced and very edible! There are regular special items that are just as tempting. We had the Whitby Scampi tails with great chip shop style chips and veg & the Cumberland ring sausage in gravy housed in a mega Yorkshire pudding with boiled potatoes and salad. This lovely roadside hostelry also boasts a good size car park, a small campsite for caravans and campervans opposite and a pub garden. All in all a delightful place where there's a friendly greeting, good food and a reasonably well-stocked bar. A 2nd visit is a definite π

What makes this my No1 pub? Well, it is everything a good pub should be. It is cosy, well run and the owners make it what it is. The beer is good. The prices are sensible. The food is good. You feel at home as soon as you step through the doorway.

Great food and sensible prices. Lovely staff and probably the cleanest toilets of any pub I've been to! Dog friendly too.

What a lovely place to go for a meal or drink. Everyone very friendly and welcoming. The food, what can I say! It was all home cooked, well presented and tasted as good as it looked. Would recommend this place as somewhere everyone should visit.Thank you for making mum's birthday meal special, especially the candle in her trifle. We will be back very soon.

This is a truly wonderful individual place that I have been to in a long time. The staff who work here are very friendly, polite and professional. There is plenty of choice of food on offer, that is cooked and when needed. The food is absolutely fantastic and for filling. I definitely recommend that this truly hidden away gem a try and enjoy yourself
