"Over 250 years old, the historic and atmospheric pub has an old world charm. In the Lune Valley, between Lancaster and Kirkby Lonsdale, the Fenwick is a perfect place to relax in front of the fire and enjoy our daily changing menu; even better stay the night in our 5-star pub with rooms and enjoy an extra after dinner drink!"

Staff OK. Limited lunchtime menu - basic dishes. We were asked if we had any allergies and after saying: "just chillies" the chef decided he'd put raw chillies on our plates as a garnish! LOL.In my opinion not worth a special trip...but OK for a stop-off en-route.

Loved it. Stayed one night heading up through England to the ferry. Only 10 minutes of the M6. Booked a superior room great size, clean and modern. Dog friendly which was an added bonus. Dined in the restaurant that night and the food was exceptional. Have an fantastic range of fish dishes keep an eye out for the daily specials. All the staff where extremely friendly and professional. Would definitely stay again.

Really lovely pub/restaurant with friendly staff. Menu is seafood centric (as the logo suggests) and the daily special langoustines were amazing. However slightly disappointed by the fish pie and pot pie (we both had pies) hence the one star mark down. Nothing really wrong with them but the greasy seafood flavours were drowned in the seasoning in my opinion. Definitely will be returning and the rooms look nice too!

Overnight stay with dinner deal which made it good value. The staff were lovely and helpful and the food was very good. However our dog friendly room was overlooking the car park and next to the kitchen so it was quite noisy. There was constant banging from a kitchen door. We mentioned it to the staff and they said they'd had problems with it before and will tell others to be aware of it. Our room was nicely decorated with a comfortable bed but it was extremely hot,(even after I turned heating off). On a plus point the food was superb. We ate Chateaubriand, surf and turf which was delicious and the cooked breakfast was very nice. (possibly the best bacon I've ever tasted!).

Wife and I had an excellent lunch. We'll presented, tasty food. The pre-meal olives were exceptional !! Enjoyable experience. Thank you.

Outstanding pub, food service and rooms all excellent. Lovely to find this hidden gem. Been twice in 2 weeks and planning our next trip.

Food was of a high standard, you could tell it was all fresh. Nothing microwaved here. Its top dollar so you need to cough up more. But you get what you pay for.

Just had Christmas Lunch, unfortunately it left a lot to be desired. The plus point was that the ambiance was welcoming with a lovely log fire. There was a distinct lack of Christmas decor around the room and none on the tables.Considering we paid £85 pp, the turkey lunch lacked the trimmings. No stuffing, pigs in blankets, apple / cranberry sauce. Turkey was not from an actual bird but slices from a roll. The plate swam in gravy which was made from granules & water. The steak choice just had chips & green beans. The Lobster was hardly edible - nutcrackers were provided to get the meat out of the claws which was impossible. The wait between courses was too long and requests for anything was forgotten. The same cutlery was used for starters and main courses. The sticky toffee pud was microwaved and hard/chewy on the outside. No coffee / mints or mince pies were offered nor were included in the price which is pretty appalling considering the overall price. One looks forward to enjoying Christmas lunch out as a treat but next year it will be at home.

Utterly fabulous. The staff were wonderful, the food incredible. Gluten-free and vegan options catered for. The Specials had been snapped up, and alternatives were suggested. We will be back! Truly fantastic night, thank you

Stayed here for one night in November. We booked through the usual websites and end up with a decent discount making this affordable. The room overall was very good, spacious, very clean, big walk in shower, plenty of storage. We pointed out some minor cosmetic issues to the manager on checking out, which she happily accepted and thanked us for. Very positive. We ate in the restaurant of an evening and was blown away by the quality of food and service. Game pie was just sensational but I would recommend swapping out game chips (not for me I'm afraid) for standard chunky chips, if you're a big eater. We didn't get to try the seafood platter which looked amazing, next time maybe.I would have liked to have seen some traditional desserts on the menu, crumble, pie, b&b pudding. Nothing on there tickled our fancy. All in all a great experience. Staff very friendly and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble for them.
