Great service and food as usual from The Fleece staff. Couldn't understand why one member of staff said there were "none today" when we asked, but then another gave us a specials menu🤷🏻♀️My husband started with a MASSIVE bowl of soup, which he thoroughly enjoyed but the staff were obvs keen to clear it and bring mains in, as at least six different times they popped their heads round to see if he'd finished🥣😄My son had calamari which he thought was delicious 🤢🤭The menu didn’t really capture our imaginations. I don't know why, it just didn't. However, the food was utterly amazing. Food cooked to perfection! My son and I chose the rump steak and chicken combo and it was so tender and gorgeous! When we're visiting my Mum this is always our favourite and it certainly gets booked up!Dogs are allowed in the bar too.🚾I don't normally taken my phone to the loo 😳or photos of toilets 😲😲but I paid the bill at the bar then paid a visit. They're such lovely loos😬🚽

Lovely rural pub, serves excellent food. Dog friendly and also has a little shop inside. Parking for larger vehicles such as motorhomes would be quite difficult

Such a friendly place. Wonderful staff, welcoming atmosphere and delicious food as well as a wide selection of local ales. Cosy little corners to snuggle up in, too, if it's too chilly for the lovely beer garden.

A hidden gem that i will definitely visit again. Fantastic cosy atmosphere in which the locals make you welcome. The rooms are spacious furnished with a modern country feel. It is worth a visit just for the food - a great selection with portions big enough to serve a giant! For you real ale fans a choice of local beers. Outside there is a good sized outdoor eating area which i bet would be brilliant in the summer.

Lovely lunch at the Fleece today. My partner had Roast beef and I had Sea bass which was spot on. Shared an apricot bread and butter pudding which was a generous size 😊

Good points : no musak, open fire, good range of beers. Good service. The fish platter was excellent. I had the mussels which were also good. Unfortunately our visit was spoilt by a loud group of drunken men in the bar.

Made very welcome by our host from Berlin! Other staff said he always had a smile for everyone. We chose the pulled pork and moules mariniere for starters both delicious. We both had medium rare ribeye steak again very tasty and hot. A busy but intimate restaurant in a beautifully restored hostelry with flagstone floors, panelled walls stone and doorways. Tastefully decorated with complimentary 'old master' art and modern animal prints and generously warmed by log burners. Menu prices range from £6(nibbles) to £24(ribeye) we didn't try the desserts as we were 'full' but I was assured the sticky toffee pudding was great. Good sized car park. A local Inn where all are welcomed.

We stayed for 3 nights over new year. The room was absolutely gorgeous with a fabulous shower and huge bath. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly and made you feel nothing would be a problem. The evening meals and breakfasts were delicious. We honestly couldn't recommend this lovely Inn enough.

I was made to feel very welcome at the Fleece. Had a great two night break - slept really well and felt refreshed after. Great location as you are a short drive from beautiful countryside & also Lancaster which is a great place to get a coffee and wander around. Good base to explore the local area and the Lakes
