Still the best coffee place in town without a shadow of doubt. This independent coffee shop (along with their other sites at the Castle and The Hall) is truly worth the visit.Great staff, atmosphere and service. Wonderful selection of tea, coffee and cakes. You will not be disappointed. My personal recommendation is the coconut milk hot chocolate.

The best coffee shop in the UK by far. Beautiful location, beautiful tea's & coffee's, amazing cake's and nibbles. Really relaxing ambiance. Very nice to sit outside in the sun and people watch but also just as nice to sit in on a cold rainy day.

Cafe located in a paved area in Lancaster, access via a passageway from one of the main shopping streets. Tables outside. Good selection of drinks and snacks, reasonable prices. Very interesting building, upstairs are two apartments that can be rented for short stays via the Landmark Trust.

My first time visiting The Music Room, although I have lived in Lancaster for over 10 years, I'm ashamed to say I had no idea it existed. A lovely little cafe!We had a delicious Viennese swirl biscuit, half dipped in chocolate, to my surprise it turned out to be two Viennese swirls with a generous dollop of frosting in between, I was a bit taken back by it and I thought it would be too sickly - it thankfully was not sweet at all. My partner and I shared this, it was lovely, and perfect with the Americano I ordered. The coffee it self was unfortunately quite sharp and bitter, but I will be going back to try it again and I hope to have a much better experience with the coffe.

Made our first visit to the music room today for a coffee, as our usual spots were busy and had waits. There was an abundance of cakes on offer and sandwiches. We opted for coffees, ÂŁ2.80 for a cappuccino is sort of the average price in Lancaster. The coffee was served fairly quickly and smelt great, it was smooth, but that after taste. It was surprisingly very strong and bitter in taste. It was still pleasant but not a scratch on our go to places.Chairs weren't super stable, but the nice quiet hidden location was a bonus.

Great coffee and good service. The cakes looked yum and they allow dogs.Tip - the sign on the door is not the one to walk through, use the door to the left of the window. Also the outside white garden tables belong to a different cafe.

The place is very quiet and ideal to drink a coffee. It is in the city center but in front of a beautiful place. The coffee is delicious. One thing that I did not like is that the place is a little bit dirty! Why all the pubs, bars and coffee stores are dirty in England?

First time visiting at a weekend. Dog friendly it turns out, which was great. As always, lovely coffee and delicious cakes. Relaxed atmosphere and nice decor. Can get a bit full of people on their Apple Macs during weekdays, so if that's not your thing when visiting a coffee shop then at least you now know.

The Music Room is the place I love to come when in Lancaster. Tucked away through a side road / alley the Music Room is set in a little square buzzing with other coffee lovers. Being part of Atkinson’s coffee roasters you can guarantee your not going to get a brew made from stale beans or the bitterness produced by the major chains. Don’t miss out on a great flat white.
