The Plough Country Pub & Dining Room in Lancaster

It has been newly taken over and the food was amazing. My whole family enjoyed every mouth full. Great value for money. Will definitely be going again :) also loved the little personal touches :)

Lovely staff who accommodated us on a busy night with our dog. Greats beers, only disappointment was very limited menu due to no delivery. But don't let it put you off, I could recommend. Thanks !!!

Pub is being refurbished and due to reopen soon. A great location for a beer and bite when up and running though.

Had Sunday lunch here.It was the best Roast Beef we have ever had. Delicious food. Plenty of veg.Lovely ambience. Roaring fire on a wet, windy day.Very friendly and welcoming staff, especially the lovely lady, I presume, mine host.We can't wait to try other dishes on the vast menu.Keep up the good work and see you soon.

Came here recently on the way to see our son at university. A very local pub feel and fantastic food added to the service by Abigail and others made our experience at this pub very warming. We will be returning here again, highly recommend!

Really good food with wonderful flavours. The chicken burger was the the most moist have had in a long time and it was real chicken, not reconstituted. The wine glasses are really decadent which adds a lovely ambience to the whole meal experience. The staff were bloody lovely. So attentive and polite. They are a credit to your establishment. I'll definitely be back!PS - sauces in sachets was a mute point of the meal. I think it would add to the overall experience if it was provided in a ramekin, like your gorgeous home-made slaw was.❤️

Absolutely worth every penny. The food was spot on, with great portions and flavour! 🤤We highly recommend the 'swords'!Dog-friendly, really big outside space and tables to enjoy the outside whilst eating.There is an app you can download to order drinks and food at the table.Great for those of us that are extremely vulnerable to COVID and what to step your toe into the outside world and feel safe doing so.Thanks again for the great hospitality and the biscuit treats for our dog. Incredible memories of eating here as a student and 8 years on the place is still performing so so well meeting my rose tinted expectations (in fact in many ways beating them)The Godfather burger remains an unbelievably enjoyable experience. Such great value. Really juicy and succulent beef patties with thick (and I mean thick) cut bacon and what feels like inches of melted cheese. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle (personally still prefer the thick cut chips which my partner had with her lasagna though)Service is great and they have a good and robust system for covid. Overall a fantastic meal out.

My first visit a few days ago was very pleasant on a weekday lunch time with lovely soup and a roll - but the establishment was very quiet. Today on my call on my way to hospital visiting the service was terrible - my drink and ice cream (ordered at the same time) arrived at least 10 minutes apart and I had finished the sweet before the coffee arrived. They were both ‘deposited’ on the table, rather than being served - and neither waiter even made eye contact. The spoon for the ice cream was slid across the table at me.This pub has the potential to be lovely (as indeed it was on my first visit) but I won’t be calling again too quickly at peak times as I know I deserve more for my customer money.
