"Eric and Elaine had a lifetime dream of moving to Cornwall to run their own cafĂ© business. After âselling upâ in December 2020 they travelled to Cornwall to view properties, on the long journey back they decided that it was too far from home and too much of a wrench to leave their families behind, especially their grandchildren. Eric then discovered that the old âWhite Lionâ pub in Halton was up for sale and after viewing the property both Eric and Elaine fell in love with it. After a few nail biting months the property was theirs and they finally moved in on the 19th March 2021. A major refurbishment and renovation project was undertaken with the ultimate outcome being the opening of The Red Door CafĂ© Halton on the 6th November 2021"

We went for breakfast twice at the end of March. My husband forgot the gloves in their toilet and we came back for tea and cake later and he was reunited with his precious gloves. Breakfast was hearty and home made and we were very contented. I also enjoyed the homemade scorn. We loved the traditional decor and look forward to returning to their cafe again in the future.

Stopped off on our way up to the Lakes. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast with freshly cooked local produce and excellent coffee. The staff were very friendly too and brought some games across to our table for our children to play with.

We celebrated a 65th wedding anniversary with afternoon tea. The food was lovely and great service. The place is tastefully decorated and the toilets are immaculate. Try it you won't be disappointed.
