Excellent service from a young staff. Very personable and polite offering a varied menu for our lunch . We were very fortunate to stumble upon this place after walking for a couple of hours over the crags. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

We went to The Ship on a cold Saturday lunchtime in the search for a warm hearty meal. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and the food was really tasty. The chef came to speak to me to double check the allergens in the food and made adaptations to accommodate. For a starter I had black pudding and belly pork without the egg and creamy sauce but had a sweet chilli sauce instead which was delicious and a perfect alternative sauce. For the main course I had Cumberland sausage whirl with chips instead of mash which was really tasty. We had no room for puddings as the portion sizes were generous. I will be returning again soon and would definitely recommend it for the food, atmosphere and ales.

I had gluten free fish and chips and they were lovely. The batter was perfect, not too thick and cooked through. Friendly staff as well.

We went for a family meal on Friday evening. The staff were welcoming and could not do enough for those with allergies in our group. Food was really good and all served in a timely manner too. The toilets were well maintained and clean. The atmosphere was just right too, tables were spaced out just enough and a lovely buzz about the place, all in all well worth an visit and would highly recommend. Well done to the entire team at The Ship Inn.

This is a fantastic pub. The meals are consistently good, nay.. excellent, and at a great price and the beer is well kept. Good staff with just the right level of attention. We'll worth a visit.... my fave place.
