The Sun Hotel and Bar in Lancaster

Located near to central Lancaster this is a little gem of a place. Rooms very tastefully decorated and well equipped even has an ironing board. Large selection of craft ales and lagers. Quaint little beer garden. Plenty of choice on breakfast menu to suit all appetites.

Only five minutes walk from the centre. We had a lovely big room at the top of the building. Good quality furnishings and comfortable bed. The Sun has a very quirky layout in the hotel part of the building.

Absolutely great place to stay eat & drink!! Only stayed for 1 night but wished we were staying longer. Only choice to stay when back in Lancaster. Staff so friendly & helpful, good amazing too. Book direct for breakfast included.

I was there for business. Much more a holiday hotel. Breakfast served at 7:30am with doors to bar/restaurant locked until then. You can get out however the fire route was lined on one day with rubbish bags, the next with towels. They did say they'd sort it but it's a major fire hazard and it looked like something they normally do. I can't say whether they changed. On the positive side, the room was lovely and spacious, beautiful old building with lots of history very well done. The food was fabulous. Really tasty. Most of the staff were lovely too. Knocked off stars for the fire hazard. Fire routes should always remain clear.

Really enjoyed our one night stay at The Sun Inn. We would definitely book again next time we visit Lancaster. Lovely food and excellent Beer from The Lancaster Brewery (I might have had a bit too much of that 🙄) All the staff were friendly and it’s just a short walk from the train station. Everything was clean and tidy.

Had a lovely stay at the sun hotel, rooms were lovely had a small issue with our original room but staff were very professional and kind enough to move us to a better room. Both rooms were lovely very nicely decorated and bed was so soft slept very well. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wanted to stay in Lancaster and I would definitely stay again.

Stayed here on New Year’s Day, lovely rooms nice & warm, with a comfy bed. My mrs forgot her Apple Watch and they rang within minutes of us leaving to inform us, which was nice. Cannot fault these guys. Will be staying next time I’m in Lancaster.

Beef sandwich not great. No blue cheese? Bread supposed to be doorstop brown... warship bought sliced. Pot of tea nice. Sag curry had little spinach and not basmai rice. Service and beer good. Nice ambiance. Try apple store if you want a good hot beef sarni

Ideally situated in Lancaster city centre, room was very reasonable price, clean and comfortable. Service from start to finish was outstanding. Evening meal was excellent and breakfast was something I will look forward to next time I stay. Highly recommended.

We were recommended to come here for a meal and weren't disappointed. The pub/ hotel is old and has many interesting features, including a trap door I'm the floor leading down steps to an underground room used to store medicines for the apothecary which used to be there. The food was excellent, the menu varied. My peppercorn sauce was delicious. The only downside for me was the muzak, which I suppose is a "must" these days. The waiting staff were friendly and welcoming.
