The White Cross in Lancaster

I don't write many low star reviews but I was quite disappointed with my visit to the White Cross. The venue is lovely and I'm sure would make a lovely stop off for a few beers on a nice summers day. Unfortunately our group meal wasn't great, half the menu was not available (that isn't an exaggeration), I wish we had been told this when we booked. The food we did get was on the poor side of average, I got the feeling their chef was a stand in.. If we go again we will no doubt just hit the nice selection of beers they have.

Awesome beer selection - as the A-board outside days everyday is a beer festival!!Food also pretty decent.Great place to get a puncture outside.My only gripe is the bicycle parking - racks are vertical?! (which I've never seen before) and impossible to get my bike into. Sheffield stands would be much better imo...

Lovely day in Lancaster today, made even better sitting outside The White Cross by the canal, enjoying some hand cut chips, and chatting to lovely people in the sunshine!

This is our second five star review,. Lovely atmosphere and a good selection of real ale. The staff are always friendly and knowledgable and we would like to mention Jess for her brilliant customer service, friendliness and knowledge of all the ales.

Such a great range of beer, brewed by experts. The pan fried chicken breast main was perfectly cooked 👌🏼

Really good food and a beautiful spot alongside the canal. Decent prices too. Only went for lunch but would go again. Staff were attentive and pleasent throughout.

Brilliantly run pub with a fantastic local atmosphere. The weekly quizzes are ones not to miss - the landlord takes great pride in them and they're really great fun to take part in! Make sure you book in advance!The decor is cool, there's a great range of drinks and the food is pretty great too (much better than standard pub food for sure).This is our #1 pub spot in Lancaster, great in Summer or Winter. It's a must visit!

Very nicely done pub on the side of the canal in Lancaster, with friendly service and great food.

The White Cross is breathtaking aswell as the view. The food is excellent,the staff very professional,mask wearing is enforced which is reassuring. This place is definitely "A MUST".

My friends and I had a really great time there. The food was really tasty and well presented, and the staff were lovely. It's so cozy, and a really excellent place to spend a good time with loved ones.I'm planning to take my partner there for a romantic evening next time
