Almond Restaurant & Bar in Liverpool

Been quite a few times to Almonds over the past 4yrs and loved it. Especially the 2/3 course lunch menu. So decided to go for valentines night, very disappointed. Very little effort with the tables & ambiance. Was expecting romance a decorated accordingly. No nice table cloths. Flowers on tables or balloons etc, you wouldnt have known it was valentines day, no effort at all to make the restaurant look romantic etc. Decided to go back again for lunch 6months later and the price has shot up and the food decreased. Very small portions and we all left feeling hungry. If they are going to increase prices they should at least give good portion sizes. Dont know if its changed hands but it's not as good as it used to be and sadly wont be returning

Went for our anniversary and had a fabulous meal. The waiting and bar staff are lovely and the ambience is really relaxing while retaining an appropriate level of formality. Informed that the place is under new management within the last couple of months too, for those who have commented previously about negative attitudes of some. This definitely isn't the case now. Will definitely be going back!

Been here many many times and it's constantly improving! The menu has so much variety now, it's great. Although, the last time I was here (Thursday) I was sat close to the toilets and the smell was just rank, like an old nightclub toilet. Couldn't wait for the food to arrive so it would mask the smell!! Hopefully was just a one off.

I had the fish and chips. Fish was very small, five chunky chips and a very small pot of peas. I wasn't impressed especially for the price. Also my partner had the lamb, the quality of the meat wasn't very good. Wouldn't go out of my way to go here again. Great l9cation and could be so much better.

Gem of a restaurant in the Liverpool suburbs! We visited on a Thursday evening after seeing the early bird menu. The restaurant is modern and well decorated, it has a bar area separate to the restaurant. There is a wide selection of starters, mains and desserts so we all ordered different dishes. The food was all hot, fresh, tasty and well presented. The meals arrived in a good time, swaps were made to accompaniments on request and the staff were all friendly. My favourite dish was the chicken, ham and leek pie which was homemade and a good size portion. Will definitely be returning. Almond is also on the taste card and meerkat meals 😊

Been coming to almond for the past few years to celebrate special occasions and tea with the girls. I was really looking forward to coming to almond this evening to celebrate my birthday with a friend unfortunately I have been very disappointed for the following reasons and I hope that this was just a one off. Portion size seems to be drastically reduced and more importantly when I queried the bill I received I was quickly dismissed as being incorrect and I had to show them how a bill was worked out to show there offers surely this isn't how a restaurant operates. I will be keeping a close eye on further reviews hoping that this was just an isolated evening. Please check your bill for the offer and make sure it adds up as my friend was just going to pay it.

This evening I visited The Almond restaurant in West Derby with my son. I can say from walking through the door we were warmly greeted and shown to our seats. The staff were all polite and courteous. I ordered the liver chicken pate.For my main course I had pan fried sea bass. The food was 1st class perfection. Top marks to the chef. The manergeress Lisa was wonderful catering for our needs. 100% to The Almond. Lovely evening and well recommended. Xxx Lorraine.

Busy little restaurant. My food was delicious. Made to feel really welcome and not rushed through our meal. Didn't give 5 stars as our table wasn't in the best place (foot of a busy staircase), and my partner had to return his steak twice because the chef kept overcooking, asked for medium / rare and it was well done. Seafood linguine however was lovely.

Shame as I'am a regular...but tonight the service was lacking. The food is amazing, well done to the Chefs but the serving staff had poor product knowledge, distinct lack of hospitality, this can only be a result of uninformed training.Pronunciation of liquors and dishes by the serving staff was a surprising shortfall with a restaurant with an a la carte menu.As said, I have been a regular for some time but this evening was a disappointment service wise.
