Bacaro is an Italian 'small plates' restaurant and the food is excellent. It offers a limited lunchtime menu but there is still a very reasonable choice of dishes available. The service is attentive and courteous. Drinks are attractively priced and there is a wide choice of cocktails, beers and wines. It is however very busy and the noise levels are quite high. Nevertheless it is a very enjoyable dining experience.

Visited Bacaro on the recommendation of a friend for my partners birthday and I’ve honestly never been so appalled over service. We were really disappointed as it looks beautiful from the outside and for the price you’re expected to pay one would assume that it would be the best quality. So why was ours such a bad experience? First the service - as someone who actively works in the hospitality industry I can safely say that the restaurant wasn’t busy so for me there was little reason why we had to wait over 20 minutes just to get our drinks ordered, 40 minutes to get our food ordered and upto an hour for anything to arrive at the table - bear in mind that two tables arrived after we did and got everything before we did - it seemed the waitress in our section was more concerned about serving the young, attractive men behind us (who as stated above arrived later then we did) as she stood with them for a good 15 minutes while ignoring us 🙄Next the food which fell far from expectation. My mother in law and I ordered the same meal (the slow cooked beef tagliatelle) and the two turned up, in two very different states, were my portion was half the size of my mother in laws, hers was lukewarm. My partner (crab linguine) also had a lukewarm meal. Father in law was the only one satisfied with his meal (Beef lasagne.) In addition to this a side that we ordered just failed to turn up at the table and we finally got it 20 minutes after the rest of the food after flagging down a waitress.I debated adding the pettier stuff in this review as I’m not the type to leave a bad review but I feel as though it all just added to how miserable our experience was. The cutlery wasn’t polished (this is something I do in my own job, it’s not hard) water was brought to the table without any glasses to drink it with and as it became apparent that we were not having a good time the staff seemed to come by us less and less often as opposed to trying to fix the issue and spoke to us rudely when we eventually had to call one of them over. It got so bad that the manager that evening cut the bill completely which we were grateful for however it would have been nice to have just enjoyed a good meal. I’ve never left a bad review before and I wish I didn’t have to as we had such high hopes for the evening. Overall just very disappointed as the menu and restaurant look beautiful, think I’ll stick to bold street in future

Our favourite restaurant, whether it be for evening meal or a spot of lunch. Pick two or three small plates and enjoy as they arrive one by one. Intimate setting and lighting and a nice atmosphere.

Great food, recommend the croquettes and the black pudding dish. Wasn’t too impressed with the octopus dish but enjoyed the rest.

📍 @salthousebacaro LiverpoolWhat we ordered:1. Chicken wings, nduja, dolcelatte dressing2. Pan fried sea bass, cucumber and pickle salad, jalapeño mayonnaise3. Slow cooked lamb shoulder, harissa, tagliatelle, gran padano.4. Pepperoni & nduja pizzette5. Blue cheese, wild mushroom and caramelised onion pizzette6. Smoked trout, Caesar dressing, gem, brioche croutons.Thoughts 💭We love coming to Bacaro for their lunch deal 3 plates for £16.50. The food quality to price is great. Although I won’t lie it has slimmed down the wealth of options since we were last in Liverpool. But, the value was still good! The only thing I wasn’t much of a fan of was the tagliatelle as it was a bit hard. Other then that everything else would be ordered again.Top picks: chicken wings & sea bass2020 review:6 small plates do 2 of you. The lunch menu is great value! Hands down one of my favourite places In Liverpool. My favourites in order:1. Pizette2. Calamari3. Sea bass4. Roast chicken thighThe only thing I wouldn’t get again is the salmon but everything is exceptional.

We had a few days in Liverpool and booked this restaurant for our first night due to its proximity to our hotel. And I am so glad we did, wonderful ambiance and amazing service and food. We loved it so much we returned for another meal a day or so later. 100% recommended as are their sister restaurants salt yard tapas and bouchon, both equally amazing!! 👏🌟 A must visit for small plates in Liverpool

The place was fully booked but the guy on the door let us have the unused table near the kitchen which was much appreciated. The cocktails were very tasty and disappeared too quickly, the food was lovely, the dessert was second to none (flourless chocolate cake). Service was fab, waiting times were good given the place was packed full and had a good atmosphere. Didn't get any good photos of the food as I was too busy eating it. Would definitely visit again on my next Liverpool visit!
