eastern diner in Liverpool

OMG what a disappointment. Dumplings and spring rolls must have been from Tesco's freezer on the other side of the street, just heated in the microwave. Sate Sauce came without a single peanut and was liquid like water. Avoid!!! Total rip off...

Walked past here lots of times, what a fantastic restaurant, food was delicious, thoroughly recommended

Had a banquet, food tasted delicious and was hot. I especially liked the warm plates which kept the food warm whilst tucking into the many dishes

Asked for stilled water because I was driving. They brought a bottle instead of a jug which is the norm for restaurants. Bill arrives and the water was £4.50. Disgusting rip off and the food was overpriced too. Hence an empty restaurant. Never again.

Service and food was great. Restaurant has recently moved from China Town in the city to Allerton, closer to home so will be going again.

Great place to go for a meal. Service very quick & staff are always their if you need anything. Lovely & clean inside.

It really breaks my heart to give Eastern Diner a bad review. I've eaten at the resturant for almost all of my birthday meals and loved their food and service. To celebrate buying and moving into our home, I convinced my partner and her family that we should get a meal from my favorite restaurant. Sadly, the quality of the food had dropped massively from the last time I ate there. To name just just a few concerns: the fried rice looked like boiled rice with turmeric sprinkled on top, the crispy dishes were soggy and the won ton soup smelt and tasted terrible. I know these dishes well, I'm not one for variety so I could tell that the food I was eating was not the same high quality food the restaurant used to serve. I rang to voice my concern about the meal but the staff member I talked to seemed to not believe what I was saying and kept telling me that the food was prepared fast as if to say I should be happy that the restaurant should be happy that they value speed over quality. It may seem dramatic but this experience is more than just a disappointing meal. I understand that times are hard at the minute and the lower quality food/service may be a consequence of this but if I were asked if the food I just ate justified the high restaurant prices (£89 for 4 people), I'd say it was barely worth the price of 4 value price microwave meals.
