At lunchtime it was quiet with only a small area of the restaurant used. However this area was busy with mum's and babies chatting, more senior diners taking advantage of the 'two for £10' menu and lots of people enjoying a lunchtime catch up with reasonably price food. Myself and friend both chose to eat from the 'two for £10' even though we don't fall into that age range! There was a reduced menu but it had enough choices. At Harvester there is a free drinks refill on cola, and other carbonated drinks. The food was hot and well presented when it was brought out by one of the efficient waitresses. Also available is a free salad bar which you are free to visit as many times as you want. I chose to take advantage of the dessert menu, purely so I'd be able to rate it. I can't remember what I had but it was good value for money as well as yummy. As people were leaving tables were cleared and reset so there were no dishes left out.As a lunch time dining experience it was a pleasant experience despite the inclement weather. Out side is a large car park with a few disabled spaces. A large grasses area looks out across Otterspool prom and beyond that the River Mersey.

I was hesitant at first, having had poor experiences in harvesters in other parts of the country. However the new menu and wide range of dishes were a welcome sight and tasted amazing. Would highly recommend as the salad bar was free with any main meal an excellent and healthy addition.

I can understand the poor reviews & should have heeded them. Mediocre quality & attention. We asked to be sat in a quiet area, which was catered for. After about 20 minutes I got up and told the waiter we were ready to order. A waitress had told us that chicken was off, before we looked at the menu. The prawn starter was tasteless & the rump steak was like a thin sliver of overcooked fried steak & was in 2 pieces. I had requested "medium". Again, I had to get up & ask the waiter if he could take our dessert order. Again, no meringue, so that ruled out 2 sweets. Not impressed. Will not return. Christmas booking & menu on the table at the door was the first thing we saw on entry - in July!

The only redeeming feature of this place is that the soft drinks come with unlimited free refills.I have visited this pub on multiple occasions, and there is always one fault or another. Each time I visit, it seems to get worse.During my most recent visit, we were told to wait an hour for a table - fair enough given that they were busy. Then, after being seated, the staff informed us that effectively half of the menu wasn't available. They had run out of chicken, the combos were unavailable, this needed to be substituted for that etc etc... As to why we were not told any of this prior to being asked to wait an hour for a table is beyond me.The ensuing service was exceptionally slow, the staff rude and inattentive, the atmosphere poor, the alcoholic drinks expensive, and the food was mediocre at best (when we finally found the few menu items they had in stock).I would avoid this place like the plague, unless you have an all-encompassing appetite and are willing to eat whatever they can dig out of the bottom of the freezer to throw at you.

Cheap food. Friendly staff. Somewhat chaotic though and erratic service. This time no chicken, no burgers, no credit machine working and a half hour wait for first course. Choice of beer was also very limited. No white rolls for about fifteen minutes and then suddenly issued with a very big plate of them - a bit like buses nothing then too many. It would have been more understandable had there been more than a handful if customers at the time. The food was OK although two of us had fish and chips. The oil must not have been hot enough as the tempura batter was very oily and a little soggy. Rest was standard Harvesters fare.

Really nice atmosphere, staff are friendly, courteous and food is top notch. Can't fault it. Food is reasonably priced and has a wide range to suit all tastes. Great views and a short walk to the river. Restaurant is clean and tidy aleach time we have visited. Only one issue is the long waiting time for the food, but it is worth it.

Great food, well cooked and presented at reasonable prices. Restaurant was clean, spacious and comfortable. Would have given 5 stars but the wait for the food was quite long especially considering how quiet the restaurant was.

Food choice and quality good. However service can be extremely poor. Most recent visit we were left for 40 minutes after our mains were finished before seeing our waitress again. We had to ask where our waitress was and when she reappeared there was no apology, simply "I was doing desserts in the kitchen." She then took our plates, and we waited another 25 minutes without seeing her again to get the bill. In the end had to ask any member of staff we could find for the bill. Unfortunately this was not been the first occasion of poor service. A real shame as if staffing levels/ staff quality were addressed this would be a good place. If you like Harvester food, would recommend Derby Pool as we have never had service issues there.

Disappointing as week before was lovely. Breakfast took over 40 mins then when appeared was greasy , cold and the bacon was grey looking , the waitress was very nice and polite when I asked for the food to be hotter came back 2 mins later microwaved. It was not at all busy either.

Ate here last Sunday. Extremely slow, poor service even though it wasn't busy. Waited an hour between ordering and mains arriving at the table only to find my daughters dish was cold. Complained and got told "I know, we've only got two on in the kitchen so what do you expect?". Spoilt a rare family get together. Safe to say I'll never return!
