Great place for a Sunday breakfast on the move, overlooking the Albert Dock. The huge pastries (made fresh every day) look fantastic and taste great. Could do with more savoury than sweet chocolate varieties but they are all good. We also had the velvet hot chocolate - very tasty! Now for a walk along the Mersey to burn off those decadent calories!

I rarely make reviews for places related to food, but I have never, ever had such amazing croissants in my life. After visiting the nearby museums on the Wednesday, I was walking around the area and stumbled upon Rough Hand Made - it was a little late in the afternoon, so most of the baked goods were gone. However, there were still a few fluffy and enticing butters croissants left. I picked one and took it to-go. When I finally sat down to eat it, I was shocked by how delicious it was. I've had some lovely butter croissants before but this another level!I was so impressed that I went back the next day to get a second butter croissant and it didn't disappoint. After this experience, I honestly cannot believe I've put up with so many poorly-made, dried croissants in my life... Even relatively 'good' ones don't compare to these! If you're in Liverpool, I'd absolutely recommend stopping by here. Well done.

Some amazing pastries. It was recommended to me as the "best pastries in Liverpool" and it did not disappoint. The blueberry and cream cheese pastry was so gooey and buttery. The Belgian and white chocolate pastry was also a great blend of flavor, not too sweet while staying flakey on the outside and gooey on the inside. Would definitely go again.

So sad i wasn't able to taste everything but the cream cheese & blueberries never disappoint. Will definitely go back when I get the chance to visit Liverpool again.

Best Cinnamon Walnut bun! (Actually has a good crunch to it!)For some time, I've been looking for a Swedish cinnamon bun substitute without icing sugar on top...When I checked out Rough Hand Made, I discovered the Cinnamon Walnut bun. The next day, I heat it up gently in the microwave and it was soft and delicious! The best part is, it's not overly sweet and I can actually taste the walnuts and cinnamon inside! Usually most pastries end up having too much dough and you can't taste much other ingredients inside.I expected only some walnuts but was pleasantly surprised to find the inner layer lined with walnuts as well!It was crunchy and sweet enough - highly recommended!Worth every penny! Definitely I'm excited to head back to check out the other pastries!

I ate literally the largest croissant I have ever eaten anywhere in this place. It was recommended in a blog to give it a try on the way to the dock where the museums are located. It was indeed handmade right infront. The filling could have been a bit more but the crispiness and taste was amazing. Red Velvet chocolate was disappointing.

Definitely head here if you’re on the docks for the freshest pastries around! They bake fresh every day and you can totally feel the difference. I tried the milk chocolate croissant, which was soft and delicate but full of flavours - not to mention it was ginormous - with a cup of decaf cappuccino. You can sit outside on their benches, overlooking the water, or enjoy sitting at a little table inside. Everybody in there was smiley and looked happy to work there :)

Went in for a quick bite on a Sunday, had a mini pizza, a sweet almond plait and a cream cheese and blueberry pastry.Pizza was nice with fresh, soft dough; the almond plait had fantastic texture with brown sugar baked on top of it - not much almond paste, more on the dry side went great with coffee; the cream cheese and blueberry pastry was warm out of the oven, almost juicy and likely the best sweet pastry with cheese I've ever had.Place had a small crowd waiting, the food comes out in batches of maybe 10 items and they're gone almost immediately.Heard that their hot velvet chocolate is worth having so definitely coming back

Just wonderful!Whenever in Liverpool, we drop by for at least 2 times: first for a delicious breakfast, second just before we live, to fill one backpack with everything we can. So that, at least for the next few days, we can still savour those magnificent pastries.

A great selection of pastry and hot drinks to choose from. The Rough Hand Made is fresh and delicious, as you would expect. My only gripe with this place is the fact that when I visited, the selection of pastries wasn't great. There was only about 3 different types to choose from. Otherwise, they all tasted great.By the way, red velvet hot chocolate is a thing. Yes you should buy it.
