Service was very poor. Took 20 mins before we got a drink and that was only because I had to ask. we waited another 20 mins after the menus were gven to us before they took our order. After the amazing dinner we couldnt get a desert as they never came and asked. We had to walk up to the front and pay. The only reason we give 3 stars was because the dinner was just serblime. Just amazing. Shame it was ruined by front of house staff talking to each other ignoring their customers.

First time I've been to San Carlo and it was excellent. We hadn't booked but we got a table. Staff and food were really good. Will definitely return

9 of us went here yesterday for a 70th birthday. The food was lovely. Most of us had a pasta dish and we all enjoyed them. The service was brilliant. Booked in for 2pm. We were 15 minutes late and they were great with us. We took in a birthday cake and they brought it out and sang happy birthday to my husband which was very kind. Special thanks to our waiter James.

What should have been a lovely evening with friends, turned in to an awful evening with shocking customer service. Pre booked weeks ago to be sat on a table right next to the serving station and the very small walk way for where staff carried food and customers went to toilets. Staff constantly knocking our chairs as they rushed past our table. No social distancing, staff might as well sat at table with us…….. We politely talked to 4 different members of staff and none of them seemed to care. I bet it would have been different if we were a celebrity…. To be honest food wasn’t worth the price either

Went here a few weeks ago, Christ. It was so bad, probably one of the worst meals I've ever had out. Apparently a haunt of local celebrities and footballers, god only knows why. The seating plan and decor inside is like 80s run down restaurant. The food took an hour and 10 minutes to arrive and to be honest I've had better microwave meals. You couldn't pay me to go there again.

Wife's birthday meals fancied San Carlos. Don't know what the hype was all about, serving steak, Pizza and pasta??It's was more style than substance, with pictures of some famous faces on the wall? Sat near waiters entrance near the walkway to the toilets- not a great place. They should get rid of that. Food was thrown at you, the very large Italian waiter instead of placing it on the table decided to hand it to me but hit my chest? Ordered oysters, they came with the starters: if you are of hospitality industry these come first. Food seemed to be thrown together, and ordering the mixed grill what a waste of money?Drinks expensive. Watching the waiters runabout, also in the room where they get the food. Surprisingly some were eating the food? Cannot be certain if it was leftovers or before service. Men in suits running around, with waiters hogging around when pretty girls came to eat? It was busy so service was expected to be a bit delayed, and we waited? Would I go back- Definitely NOT. I have eaten better Italian food not far.

My. Husband and I always book in this restaurant when we visit Liverpool as it has always been our favourite place for the past 10 years. Unfortunately we will never go back. There was no social distancing tables were crammed in to the restaurant like sardines and to top it off the food was awful. We ordered the mixed platter sea food starter to share it was swimming in oil looked like it had been tipped straight from a deep fat fryer. Main course I ordered mushroom risotto? Either the rice had not been cooked correctly or it was they had used the wrong rice, so it was like mushroom soup. I sent it back as it was inedible. My husband had lobster risotto £31 it was served in an empty half lobster shell and only had one chunk of lobster again rice was awful. He didn't eat it but was embarrassed to send it back as my meal had already been sent back. So so disappointed. What has happened San Carlo Liverpool?

We had a birthday celebration, and bring our surprise cake before, but they forgot to put on the fridge and that's was a surprise...and awful cake + £380 to pay for the bill...so we will never forget this birthday...

An amazing place to have an excellent Italian cuisine. Wonderful service. I strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone! And I'm sure I'm going to come back very soon.
