Sat for 20 minutes before someone acknowledged us. Asked to be served but told will come to you but no one came could not order at bar not really busy just poor service

·

Really beautiful building which was the old bank, good was very nice and reasonably priced, however it was very very loud in there. The live music was nice but it was very distracting.

·

Service with a frown, bar staff didn't know the menu or clear the plates from the tableBoxing and footy is streamed from a blag kodi box that buffers or cuts off every 10 seconds.Stopped serving ale at 10:30 for half an hour cos the bar staff were overwhelmedShocker

·

Had roast dinner .. It was good.. Service was shocking .. my son was told off for ordering a regular cola as it has sugar in and sugar is expensive .. therefore they don't sell regular cola .. Dumbfounded

It turns out that whoever first coined the phrase 'any port on a storm' hasn't been subjected to the service at 'The Old Bank'. I dived into this ostensibly decent looking boozer to get out of the December rain and grab some cheap food - and was instead treated to the most inept and incompetent service I've ever experienced. From not attending the table, forgetting a two-drink order (twice) and failing to understand the general concept of a receipt, it really is incredible just how bad four different people can be at their individual jobs.

A great space for larger groups thanks the the large booths downstairs. Shows the sport and has live music on Friday nights. Always something wrong on the order when you get a round in, but it's a nice space and the drink prices aren't ridiculous.

Food was lovely service was poor !! This was due to lack of staff. Staff on duty worked really hard but overstretched. So our food came out in fits & starts. One of our party was completely forgotten about, despite ordering ahead she had to wait an extra 30mins for her meal. When it finally arrived we had all finished our mains & starters.

The Old Bank has a very ornate interior and when we went, it was reasonably quiet. The food was great, I had the Katsu Chicken Curry and it was delicious, I didn't stay for dessert, but the menu looked like standard pub fayre (brownies, sticky toffee pudding) you can't really go wrong with those. The only thing preventing this from being a 5 star review, is that the service was a little leisurely, not a massive issue, as we weren't in a hurry, but worth noting.

Not great to be honest. On a plus their starters were nice. Nachos and leak and potato soup. However their fish and chips were rubbish. Overcooked batter, mushy peas which had been microwaved, and the chips were hard, and certainly not hand cut. We complained to the waitress, but she just said 'that's not good and took the dishes away and that's the last we saw of her or anyone. Not interested at all.Word of advice, if you're thinking of going there STOP, walk 20 yards to the right and you'll see the manhattan - go their instead

·

Beautiful pub to look around and modernised with lots of tvs to watch the sport reasonably priced beer for location
