We have not been here since the lockdown. What a surprise we got the food was delious and very well priced. Service was excellent. Looking forward to going back soon.

Lovely character pub with open fires and a lovely atmosphere. Staff were great and worked well under pressure as we were a large funeral party but they were very good. The buffet was awesome with great choices and piping hot which was appreciated on a cold January day. Well done and many thanks from all at the Taylor event.

Me and my husband were there two nights on the row, one as a couple and the other as a family. Food was lovely as usual and great value for money and recommend to anyone. Especially with the wine deal on. Both nights we were mainly served by Jack and Jessica, they were so friendly and made the effort to make sure we were all okay and cracked a few jokes along the way (even with the kids) I did feel sorry for them though as it felt as if they were understaffed but there was two other girls talking for what seemed like most of the night (we had a view of the bar) they both deserve a raise in my books . And will definitely come back again. Thank you❤

The Black Bull in Gateacre is a lovely pub to visit. It has many spacious rooms and nooks to sit and have a drink with friends.Located at the crossroads by the traffic lights in the centre of Gateacre Village, the Black Bull is a character pub set back from the road with a large car park to the rear. Well worth a visit.

I went to this pub today first time in yrs with my adult son and young daughter ( breakfast with Santa). It was a lovely morning, decent food, friendly Santa, thoughtful gift, my little girl was happy. It's good value and a big shout out to the two lovely ladies working hard to make it special for the kids!Minus ⭐as just need a bit of glitz in the grotto for photos x

Not what it says on the menu the Sunday roast was horrible nothing fresh all frozen the menu says fresh roast potatoes with honey glazed parsnips with steamed vegetables . Honestly nothing of the sort was brought to our table frozen carrots peas and green beans hard roast potatoes burnt Yorkshire pudding questionable turkey and beef gravy won't be going there again though I would have been a lot nicer

I would give this a miss very poor quality food had three main meals their all very poor .l had posh fish and chips fish was very wet batter soggy so tried the RibieSteak all fat the waiter said they had problems with the supplier. Tried the pasta dish very clupie and cold the apple crumble was bite size with about four table spoons of custard. All in all very poor quality food foor your money.

Good relaxed atmosphere with a large selection of beers, lagers and real ale, there is also a great selection of food off the menu. Availed my family of their facilities after a funeral recently and was really impressed with the food and and friendly helpful staff. Would highly recommend a visit.

Would not recommend table was booked on phone but got told to sit anywhere most items on menu not available same with starters vegetables very cold told staff who said they would take it away i said its fine I would just eat the rest of my food and leave them to side staff came back with bowl of hot vegetables but basically shoved it on my table and said there , never got any sort of apology very disappointed after spending £140 for food and drink
