The food was average at best, the service was virtually nonexistent. I gad better service at Toby Carvery where you go and get your own food. Would not go back.

had a Sunday lunch today, having read the reviews top gastro pub. imagine my disappointment when 3 slices of cold roast beef arrived on top of a lake of mushy peas and mashed sweed , accompanied by a group of bullet hard roast potatoes. gastro i think not.

Went for a Sunday lunch with partner, food was ok nothing special, and portion a bit small. Was expecting something fabulous according to the “Award”!!! It has won apparently, don’t know what award it was, think a bit ambitious and fabricated!!. Was a roast dinner with small amount of veg. Also on same subject “Liverpool’s no1 gastropub” I also see on their posts, where’s this from as I have searched google/trip advisor/ and does not appear anywhere as Number 1 on anything so again where’s this from. If making awards up and stating number one in Liverpool you have to measure up which sadly it didn’t. Food was ok and was ok for pub lunch.

Fantastic home cooked food, produced from the tiniest of kitchens. All dishes served piping hot, and very tasty. Own chips are amazing. Certainly puts other local pubs to shame that have good size kitchens. Beer always good. All staff very friendly and helpful.
