Lovely cakes and coffee, staff friendly ,but service is very slow ,need to have a queue just for drinks ,takes a long time people ordering food .But other than that loved it .

Nice ambience and food. Staff are kind and efficient.

Nice place very friendly and accommodating staff. Cakes bit pricey but guess it's the ambience you pay for.

·

Very busy but staff were friendly and courteous .A large selection of cakes to choose from and drinks.

·

Lovely place, friendly staff. Food was fine. However all our cutlery from teaspoons to forks and knifes were dirty.

Went in the other day for a cuppa just before 3.30. We were given our drinks in paper cups. When we asked if we could have "proper" cups were told we close at 4 so don't use proper cups now!People coming in before 4 were told sorry we're closed. Again before 4 the clean up operation started around us. Brushes out, vacuum cleaners out etc.Surely if somewhere is open until 4 it's open until 4. The premises should offer full services until closing time and then when closed wash the crockery and clean up not before.

Pretty good food and coffee but they make the best hot chocolate I've had. Scouse and homemade soups excellent. Plenty of seating outside as well as in.

Disappointed with today's offering.Ordered leek and potato soup with crusty bread and a flat white. The soup was OK but the 'crusty roll' was actually a piece of stale sliced bread...not good. The flat white was equally disappointing; it was more like a cappuccino judging by the amount of frothy milk on the top.

It is great that the park has a cafe and the ice cream is amazing, but my 4 pound blt had no bacon but ham instead (it made for the worst blt ever).I do understand the building is old and needs upkeep but the prices could do with a thought.

Beautiful Mansion, great place to discover The Calder Stones and a beautiful book shop. The Cafe has indoor and outdoor seating, choice of hot and cold drinks with delicious food and of course cake. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
