Venue only 80% full when we arrived so not too busy. Had to ask for table to be cleaned even though it was prepped for the next customer. Floor area littered with food stuff and discarded napkins, menus very dirty with old food and drink stains. Ordered food and drinks via app, food arrived before drinks. When we ordered additional drinks these also took a lifetime to arrive, establishment seems understaffed. On a positive food was good.

Visited here for lunch. It was ultra busy but we got a table. Ordering was easy, service quick and polite. I had a sandwich and soup and it was good, would go here again.

The place itself was a lovely interior. Relatively smaller than your average spoons but ticks all the boxes. Brought the Mrs here for a birthday breakfast (she loves spoons) and as per usual it was great 👍. I only had one issue with this spoons and that was the staff could have done with a smile :), it's unusual to feel like your service is a burden, but hey ho. Other than that it's a lovely place for a drink and a quick brecci.

Got the Veg full english breakfast and was happy for the price. Can't beat a good breakfast at that £5 mark. And coffee, tea, mocha, or hot cocoa for another £1.35 or so (if memory serves). After feeling stumped on finding a good breakfast under £10 that wasn't McDonald's, glad a local pointed me to The Welkin. Chain restaurant? Sure. Good bang for you buck? Definitely.Oh and that's just breakfast. It's a proper bar with drinks but also food all day.

Its a weatherspoons, so pretty much the same as they always are. Quick service and large menu to choose from. This place was very busy but it did what it needed to do. Staff were hard working and friendly. Close to Cavern quarter so great spot for liverpool. All good here.

·

Despite being very busy, couldn't fault the attentiveness and courtesy of the staff on the upper level. Order processed swiftly, tables cleared and sanitised between customers. Easy access to both bar and restrooms. The fish and chips were great quality, well cooked, good portion size and cheaper than the local takeaway. Highly recommended.

3 years ago I gave a 4* Review.Today 2 is being generous. My breakfast was only just warm (as if it had been left out for about 10 minutes). The mushroom was the smallest I've ever seen too.In addition even the coffee was barely warm.Staff were busy; more down to location than quality at the moment.

Went with a friend for a bite to eat and drink.Lovely establishment, clean and tidy .The gentleman who served me at the bar was friendly and helpful and gave me double blackcurrant which I asked for in my lager. We ordered food . Lasagna and the ultimate burger where we got a drink with it and it was included in the price .It was delivered in lightning speed and to my disappointment the lasagna was lukewarm with a scabby bit of salad on the side. The girl that brought us our meals basically dumped them on the table with the cutlery and then said if you want any sauces there all over there pointed and left I was stunned .So I was expected to leave my meal to go and fetch sauces which were at the other side of the bar . Not good service at all from this girl.I left my meal. I won’t be returning

Fantastically clean and friendly, lovely relaxing atmosphere, must be one of the best 'spoons' in Liverpool, certainly one of the nicest I've ever been to in the UK so far.

·
