Food was top notch pub fayre.Cask ale was nothing to write home about (I had just been drinking ale in the Marble Arch and The Lower Turk's Head, so had a frame of reference). This is my subjective opinion of course and so, like the food, can be taken with a pinch of salt.

Charming pub on the edges of the NQ. Came on a Friday night and atmosphere was good, not super rammed and plenty of tables. They didn't seem to have any bog standard beer like John Smith's or boddies. They had their own bitter, can't remember the name. Would definitely go again.

Lovely freindly pub. Very clean the girls were very good when asked a question where to go in town for drinks. Great pub and food looked amazing

·

Not too bad although could do better!Black pudding was missing from the breakfast, coffee didn't arrive until after the meal and waitress was over worked. Probably best avoided if there's football on!Dogs were made feel welcome.

Good Character rooms, comfy bed and good TV. Very powerful shower, absolutely no problem with the hot water, comes on instantly. Lovely bar down below but didn't really hear them on the 2nd floor. Good Stay

Stayed for 2 nights had dinner here on both nights. The menu had plenty of the choices I like and the food was pretty good despite being very busy. The staff maintained a good level of service despite being so busy (Sat Night). The room was comfortable and clean, felt at home here this was in no small part due to the friendly and helpful staff. Good beer. Will stay here again.

Nice pub.We sat in a booth with drinks and played cards for a hour or so.Out of nowhere a barmaid walked past and popped a note on our table.“Table reserved at 8:30”. She didn’t think or have the courtesy to ask if we would be staying past 8:30. We did consider eating and making a night of it in there. We finished our drinks and decided to go somewhere else. Not in a rush to go back to be honest.

Fabulous place. We had a lovely room, very clean, spacious room. Bathroom was great. Bottled water in glass bottles was a plus.Iron, ironing board & hairdryer in room too. Only downside was view from room, car park, but you don't sit in your room looking through the window all day, so it hasn't changed my rating

Well this pub is cracking, it has a huge selection of ales and lager. The whiskey selection is amazing and the staffs knowledge on whiskey is impressive. They do food too which I didn't get as eating is cheating but the smell for the kitchen were mouth watering and I was almost tempted.

Great stay at the Abel, close to all the bars and restaurants and town. Lovely and cleanStaff are really nice and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and filling and sets you up for the day. The bar is nice and good selection of drinks. Rooms are modern and comfortable, we got an upgrade as it was my birthday so that was a lovely touch. We will book again for a couple of weeks time, my new favourite place to stay. Thanks!!!
