Al Waalis Restaurant in Manchester

Plenty of free parking, and friendly staff. However, the establishment is in need of modernisation. A varied menu, but I found the meat dishes to be overcooked. An overall average experience. There are much better buffet places in Manchester, though I wouldn't mind going again if I was invited by family/friends.

Excellent caring staff. Food good taste , good variety , namkeen lamb / nihari best. Can’t compare with nawab but very reasonable price if going frequently or friends get together. Only negative thing was stairs and no lift , so not ideal for wheel chair dependants.

Brilliant modern clean atmospheric buffet restaurant air conditioned situated seperatly above a busy cash and carry on the first floor. The AL WAALIS staff are extremely pleasant and are there to help. Two very spacious seating areas with choice of buffet that is enormous with dish after dish of all types of Asian food, freshly cooked labelled and displayed nicely. Crunchy chrisp salads are also available with side dressing. And after the meal, you can have sweets and deserts that are well worth the wait. Whether you are a couple or a party load they can cater for you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The food was very nice and fresh . It is a very affordable and nice place to eat. The staff is very good and the service that they provide is impeccable. There is a wide variety of food and every single dish is better then each other

for the price you pay don't have that many varieties, but overall, they are ok. Just make sure if you have walking difficulties or elderlies then please plan as they are on very high building, with no lift. quite a lot of stairs to go up.

Reasonable price with good variety of starters, mains and desserts. Lovely staff ..... would recommend if you looking to eat nice food at reasonable price with family and friends.

UPDATE August 2021: Apparently the prices are now an eye-watering £14 per head (£15 on special occasions). So so not worth it.According to their website they are the "best buffet restaurant available in Manchester". Eerrrr...wrong. #deluded #laughableReview from April 2019. Al Walis is basically what it looks like; a poor man's Nawaabs. Needs modernisation in a big way, and they need someone to keep an eye on cleanliness too.The starters were the best thing, because to me the curries all tasted uniformly the same?! Desserts were decent - if you like ice cream, and drinks were overpriced as they always are in buffet places. I've also noticed that the price has crept up steadily from £7 (I think) to £12. It's basically at the point now where instead of just going, you think about the alternatives first.On the flip side, plenty of free parking available and friendly staff.I would go again, but only if someone else is paying!

Nice and clean place, variety of warm and freshly cooked food... (Haleem) was outstanding. Staff was Friendly... On good location with huge car park. No wheelchair access..... Overall it is worth paying.
