Bernies Fish and Chips in Manchester

This chippy has been here for years and is as far as I am concerned the best chippy around the fish is perfect I have been going to thus chippy for about 25 years

Bernie shouldn't be coming around the counter to eyeball you up or be sticking his finger in your ear. I'd rather eat my shoe than eat Bernies chippy. Not a fake review and I'm not trying to mean. Not my fault you don't like it.

Fish is the best, always nice crispy batter even when its been wrapped up! Go to Tommy's chippy and the batter sticks to the paper when you open it and leaves you with a soggy fish🤣

After having tried the fish, I made a pointof returning to the shop & telling the lady(maybe owner) that the fish was "sublime", I haven't tasted fish (cod) likethat since I was in short pants, the shopisn't in my locale but I will now go on a regular basis-beautiful!

First time visit as my local chippy was closed. Fish n chips were amazing this is now my new fish shop. Lovely food Lovely people

Worst chips I've had in years, had to throw them. Not a fake review and I stand by what I said! Pure mush, stuck together and inedible. Went straight in the bin. Also one of the most expensive chippys in manchester. Having been born to parents who ran a chip shop I think I know what I'm talking about.

Thought I’d try Bernies English fish and chips. As was highly rated on Uber eats. And WOW!! All these positive reviews are RIGHT!! Best tasting gravy. (Better then KFC gravy) BIG! Portion sizes. Hot and fresh, Fish portions are a great size and is fried to perfection not over done like in some other places. Chips are nice. I’ve ordered a couple of times now. And will most DEFINITELY! Be coming back for more!! 😋😋👍🏼

Absolutely lovely place. We have been treated so kind today :) extra crispy chips - our favourite. Lovely custard slice for dessert too! We will definitely come back even it’s not our closest fish & chips bar :)

Bernies English Fish & Chips is a brilliant Chippy, the Fish is always so fresh and lots of it, the batter is really crispy, plenty of chips which are really tasty, the mushy peas are great. They have buttered muffins which I always get one of those. The pies are excellent. The curry sauce is very tasty. They do potato scallops in batter too which I love. They do other items too. I personally think this is the best Fish and Chip shop and I try to go there as much as possible. They also deliver locally via Uber Eats which is very handy. A fantastic Chippy, don't miss out if you are in the area.
