Eighth Day Cafe in Manchester

Awesome selection of vegan/vegetarian products. You can find many brands that are not easily available in chain supermarkets, maybe a little bit more expensive than usual, but the extremely central location of the store and the huge range they offer more than makes up for it. I have to got back to try their cafe in the basement.

Popped into the shop at the top a few times, they have a great selection of grocies. I also visited the cafe downstairs for the first time and had a mixed salad and a coffee. The portion size of the salad was very generous and super tasty, didn't realise how much I'd miss potato salad and coleslaw when going vegan 😄 I also got this aaaamazing biscoff cronut for dessert on the way out which was incredible!! Can't wait to come back for lunch again

Vegan heaven. Amazing selection of hot vegan savouries and cakes to take away. Great café downstairs too and lots of goodies in the shop. Just tried the online shop collection system too. Pull up, collect, go. Brilliant!

This is fantastic independent veggie shop and café which I have been going to for a few years now. It is in a good location, the staff are friendly and the food is brill!

Lovely cafe with delicious food, dhal is unbelievably tasty. Also bought a hot drink flask and shampoo/condition in one soap bar which is the best one I’ve used yet. Leaves my hair soft and clean! 😁

Amazing place with great ethical practice. One stop shop for all your ‘conscious living’ needs. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the cafe is fair priced with a great selection of food on offer with good portion sizes. The Dhal is a personal favourite, and the vegan chicken pie is unreal!! Big up the eighth day, everybody should visit this place, whether they are vegan or not.

The staff, shop and cafe are all amazing. Food is fantastic. There are so many options for vegans, menu changes daily too. Can’t recommend any higher :)

High quality, established health food shop and cafe. The cafe in particular is outstanding. Really good range of health and ethical goods in the shop. Pricey, but not unreasonably so. A real Manchester institution for me.

We hired 8th Day to do our wedding catering and they absolutely blew us away! We were supposed to get married last year, but due to Covid, had to postpone until this year. The 8th Day team were extremely accommodating and adaptable (respecting our request to change the way the food was served so we could make it as Covid safe as possible). The food was INCREDIBLE!!! They made us picnic boxes with salads, pastries, dips and quiche with nachos and bread for our wedding lunch (most of which was also gluten free), and the most amazing Korean BBQ "chicken" in a bao bun with pickles (street food style) for our evening supper. And all served in compostable containers and with compostable cutlery! Many of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they had ever had! Some had told us that they were even a bit worried about having to eat vegan food all day, but after having tried what 8th Day served, they will 100% try to eat more vegan food in the future! What a compliment! The food was really filling, and the type of food where you feel sad that you can't keep eating it forever. I'm not exaggerating when I say I still wish I could go back and eat it all again. The 8th Day team really went above and beyond to make sure the food aspect of our day was perfect. The new Cafe takeaway service is fabulous. Completely plant based and with healthy dishes such as the nourish bowls to balance out the jackfruit burgers and wings. I've had the Super Nourish bowl 3 times now and it's simply fab, a great balance of textures and fresh flavours which all complement each other. I'll be back for more!
