Ning in Manchester

Good range of eastern and oriental food. Serves beer and wine (some Malaysian places don't). Service is pretty fast but it's not like most modern eateries where waiters keep checking back, so don't be afraid to say if you need something.

Loved it. Took my girlfreidn for a Friday meal, never had Malaysian cuisine before but we both like Vietnamese and Eastern food so knew we'd like it here. Good range of food on menu and good selection of drinks too. Service with a smile and speedy too. Couldn't help but tip.

We had a work Christmas do here, so quite a large group for a small restaurant to cope with. We had an absolutely brilliant time. Everyone loved the food: vegans, veggies and meat-eaters alike. Beautiful flavours and very nicely presented food. The staff did so well to look after us, even coping with some last minute changes in dietary requirements. I can't recommend them highly enough, will be back to sample the more of the menu another time!

I had Malaysian friends years ago that made amazing food. Was pleasantly surprised to discover this place which served food that took me right back. Good food, reasonably priced. Premises are a bit small but typical of the Northern Quarter.

I love Ning! I have always liked Malaysian food, and Ning always delivers, from the plush and rather over the top pink decor, to the very attentive waiters, to the great flavours.I recently had a birthday celebration at Ning. The table was large but it was no problem to accommodate. The menu is varied, and indeed many of my guests couldn't choose which dish to order. I chose the dish listed as the chefs favourite, and was not disappointed. I cannot explain the flavours as it wasn't like a dish I had ever had, but it was so full of flavour I couldn't stop eating it! Fortunately the portions aren't excessive, so I finished it and was pleasantly full. The bill was easy to split, and the waiters very patient while we sorted out who was paying by cash/card etc.Overall, Ning is one of my favourite restaurants in the Northern Quarter, and it always serves up interesting and varied meals.

If you're after a good tasty quick thai meal - Ning is your place. The staff are super nice and food is just straight up delicious. A friend recommended the pad thai and I was not let down. Excellent portion sizes, but was quite expensive (apparently the prices have gone up recently). However all in all very good food - you get what you pay for.

The food was good, and I don't mind paying for good food however the portions were on the small side for the price. It would be nice to go to an Asian restaurant that doesn't rip you off with the tiny, tiny bowls of rice.My girlfriend was too polite to mention that her egg fried rice tasted of washing up liquid until I'd already asked for the bill.That said, our curries were fantastic.Not sure if I'll risk it again though - for the price I'd have expected better.

Decor, food and drinks is on average good (4*) but I'm rating it down due to what I feel is quite an expensive ala carte menu. They do have a meal deal for starter and mains which I highly recommend as it's more wallet friendly. That said, Ning serves up a really good Malaysian meal. Definitely a place I go to when I have cravings for Malaysian food.

A group of us went to Ning through the recommendation of a friend and we weren't disappointed. The food was great throughout and the service from the staff members was also very good as we were there during peak time. We're visiting Manchester in April and we'll definitely be going back there again. I would certainly recommend to others wishing to eat out in the city.

Visited a few times now and have tried a good proportion of the menu. Never had a bad dish. These guys are passionate about their food and want their customers to have the best experience of it possible. Brilliant atmosphere and great value for money. I'm a big portion kinda guy, and I wasn't disappointed. I'll go when ever I have the chance!
