Portland Street Restaurant & Bar in Manchester

Please dont delete this review like you did my fb comment. I came to your bar bought a drink at last orders not even 5 minutes later the security staff decided it was time to close and for them to go home. I explained I had just bought the drink and would quickly finish it and go, they then decided with no provocation to physically remove myself and my friend from the bar it, was a frightening experience and I would not recommend anyone to go to this bar. I went back to collect my belongings that had been left in the scuffle the bar staff apologised and agreed it was shocking. It was totally wrong to sell me a drink then almost immediately shut, however my issue is the way two women were man handled after being nothing but respectful and simply out having a nice time. Disgusting and disappointing behaviour from your door staff and whoever deleted my previous comment, security staff are supposed to be there to protect people not assault them.

Food is absolutely delicious! Couldn't have wished for better and will definitely return if ever back in Manchester! Great atmosphere for a Saturday night, staff are friendly and happy to accomodate where possible. Definitely recommend!

Nice bar but had a pint of sky blue lager and it was the worst pint I have had in years.

Service was slow and the staff were very rude I understand it can get quite busy but been rude to customers is never the answer.

I had a chance to be there on Monday and there was huge bargain offer - all food half price, excluding grill 😮😁.So obviously my inner pig 🐽 came out and I've ordered way too much 😂.I had godzilla size spicy burger, oven cooked camembert and jalapeños with cheese. Everything was tasty. Basically it's poshed up pub food but with generous portions. Will come back there.

Had a good meal here with the family, portions were good size and they catered for kids meal. Even better was that on mondays they do 50% off food. Staff seemed OK, although bit worried to begin with as a few people having loud conversations with words I didnt want young 'uns to hear, but they soon left so all good. The toilets could be a tad nicer, luckily baby didn't need changing...!

Amazing food, amazing portions, and a great looking place. I had a burrito with fries and Cajun chicken inside, absolutely amazing. Cheese fries were also good. Portions were sufficient, I couldn't finish it all! Very chill place.

It's cheap and cheerful. Pizza was tasteless. The base was over done and biscuit like. Topping is tasteless. Tinned mushrooms. Lots of goats cheese on mine.Service ought to be more attentive.Music is loud enough to preclude conversation over the meal.Minimal to no vegetarian choice on their early bird lunch menu.No offer of napkins. Fork and knife. Expectation is that pizza will be eaten without cutlery.This is a lousy place. I asked for lunch special at the lunch special price and was subsequently presented with a non lunch price. It was rectified but it required me to stand my ground.
