Roebuck Hotel in Manchester

Six family members met for lunch. We were not disappointed. 3 had the fish and chips, generous in size and comprising of white flaky covered in crisp batter, a real hit. Reliable Holts ale and a bottle of wine hit the spot. Good value for money, great service from a young woman with a Northern Ireland accent. Very happy with the Roebuck.

Quite a long list of unavailable items from the menu. My wife had to make 3 choices! The service was very good.

Miss it when it was a proper pub. Now it's more of a restaurant with spot lights. Nice pint of Crystal Gold

Nice pub with a good atmosphere. Joseph Holt establishment, so the lagers are good. But beware, spirits are extremely expensive in comparison to other pubs in the area!

Soup was lovely, broccoli and stilton, main course was fine also, only negative was the new menu from last time I visited, was not as varied and didn't inspire any choice.

Wont be coming back, Food turns up cold, the sunday roast beef twice had plastic in it, cheese pie frozen in the middle. At Christmas a few elderly residents went in for christmas meet up, food under cooked, and a couple of weeks later were slapped a £100 fine for parking in their car park, we saw no parking signs and not made aware when entering the pub, what an upsetting shock it was to them. Its a total disgrace and have lost a good few customers now.

Come here all time for a meal lovely food and service and pub is good too. Had many functions in room upstairs ☺️

An absolute shocker. Older woman (presumably manager) has the personality of a door. Rude, blunt and condescending. Came to eat with my partner and two kids, used to be a good place for food with a belting cheese and onion pie, the menu has since become depleted and you have to run down staff to put an order in. Partner ordered Sunday roast, waitress come back and explained there was none left, partner then ordered fish and chips, waitress come back a few minutes later, no fish and chips and no fish at all available, partner ordered cheese and onion pie NO CHEESE AND ONION PIE?!. Wife being a pescatarian was left with no other choices so she opted for a microwave tomato soup and some microwave pieces of veg in a bowl (veg was rock solid and cost £4). Myself, ordered the firecracker, waitress come back 10 minutes later and there was no firecracker. Ordered a curry, no curry. Forced to order an absolute shocker of a burger. Food took over an hour to come and was an absolute disgrace, don't order the 'cheesy garlic bread' save yourself some money and chew on some cardboard. Young and underpaid waitresses running round like headless chickens. One girl could not stop coughing her guts up every 2 minutes whilst handling people orders and cleaning cutlery, personally if I was managing a place people come for food I would of not had her working or anywhere near customers especially during the recent pandemic. Absolute shocker.

Good place to have a nice meal, bit of an odd menu with some of the plainer classics that you'd expect in a pub missed out which may be difficult if you have someone with food difficulties in the family.The ultimate burger and the gammon are both wonderful dishes that are well liked by my family.The service is nice, and they do try to be as consistent as possible however there are occasionally a few instances of chasing up drink orders that may be forgotten.Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a slow paced, chill evening. Especially good for taking older family members out for a late lunch or early dinner.
